If you don't know anything about Daniel Johnston, you need to watch this documentary. I cried watching it 😢

I tried some of Mr. Johnston's early recordings and they didn't sit that well with me. I will come back to them sometime soon.

But then I just listened to "1990" - and that is amazing! But Exuma is more spiritual and more uplifting to me personally. But, again, 1990 is one if the best and most eerie and most minimalist albums I've really fallen for lately.

I voted Exuma.

I've never heard of Johnston. I'm listening to "Hi, How Are You: The Unfinished Album" right now and I'm surprised that I'm enjoying it. I'm going to have to come back to this one.

After hearing 1990, Johnston gets my vote. I never knew you could make Got to Get You Into My Life sounds so dark.

I'm basing my knowledge of Daniel on 1990 alone, didn't enjoy that album much. Exuma, on the other hand, is on my chart. So yeah, Exuma.

I dearly love Exuma, and it was one of my favorite discoveries of the Debut Albums tournament, but this song...

How it manages to be, like CellarDoor said, fragile and beautiful, but also has an element of playfulness to it. This one song alone has me considering dropping my vote for Exuma.

Exuma is great, but nowhere near great enough to make me consider voting against Johnston.
