Also there's Absolution, Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Fleet Foxes. None of these three should be in the top 100 (and I love Muse).

Between the two, I'd definitely take RYM. Fortunately, I think the tastes of the BEA forum community are closer to RYM's chart anyway.

You and me both. I get so bored and sick of the competition. It's constantly "Well my favorite album is better than your favorite album because I said so. How could you possibly not like my favorite album as much as I do? You're insane.".

I'm far more concerned with the discovery of new music than anything else, that's what interests me most. Sure, discussing which of a band's albums is the best and why can be slightly interesting for a time, but ultimately it grows stale. And I'm not saying that we should all constantly talk about obscure music, but rather we should stop saying things with the formula of "this is better than this" so frequently, and instead discuss "I love this because" or "I discovered this thing that I love".

Honestly, there's is more unique. Weirder. More avant garde, more all inclusive.

But for me, if I was told I could save 100 albums of the human race to identify our culture, identify the greatest albums we made, I'd rather save BEA's than RYM's. That's weird, maybe, and gets more into the argument which shall not be named (I was avoiding posting this as a result), but I think that, so yeah.
