I attempted trying to sleep to the Tired Sounds last night, but to no avail. Tonight I will be trying another album, not sure which one of these yet.

Blackboard Jungle Dub by The Upsetters

I love this album anytime, but it's especially great to fall asleep to.

For the past two years, I've used William Basinski's Disintegration Loops I-IV for this cause; if I play the songs sequentially, I usually only get to the third album

Also, I made a "songs to relax to" playlist a while back.

Here's what I made, though that's a small snippet of what it's become (over 400 songs now). I'll update it one of these days. But this playlist is still pretty good, I think.

"Rejoicing In The Hands" - Devendra Banhart

"North" - Elvis Costello

"Redbird" - Redbird

"Closing Time" - Tom Waits

These are some of my go-to relaxing albums, as far as popular music goes. I would also highly recommend some classical pieces, I use a lot of piano pieces to relax, stuff like Mendelssohn's "Song Without Words", and Schubert's Impromptus, Chopin's Nocturnes, stuff like that. All totally worth it.

Cant you just plug your iphone in, so when the youtube vid ends it just locks itself and charges? Its what i do if i sleep to songza.

Hey, everyone's different! I've got a friend who, to her knowledge, has never listened to an album in order except when I once forced her to. Do what works for you, and I'm sure there's gotta be something that will work 😄

The Dark Third by Pure Reason Revolution

the male/female vocals soothe me like nothing else.. plus the whole album is about sleeping and dreaming so thats cool too.

For me it's that happy medium where I can either stay awake and listen to all the little changes or just have it as a soothing backdrop. Ambient music is generally good for falling asleep to. I sometimes also use Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II, although that one gets pretty creepy.
