1. Arcade Fire
2. Bon Iver
3. Kanye West
4. The National
5. Manchester Orchestra
6. TV On The Radio
7. The Format (i loved them)
8. Morning Benders
9. Sufjan Stevens (i'm pretty sure first album was A Sun Came in 2000)
10. Vampire Weekend (there debut album rocked my world)

BAM! those are my favourite
i'd also add in fleet foxes toward the end of the decade and the antlers. not the best of the decade, but two of the best debuts of the decade.

Ouch, nary a mention for my top two?

1. Royksopp
2. Goldfrapp
3. Coldplay
4. Arcade Fire
5. Gorillaz

Honestly, why is Royksopp so underrated even among people with good taste in music? Listen to 'What Else Is There' and tell me LCD Soundsystem is better...

Link

Who else is making music this powerful right now?

Link

please don't make me not like artists I like because you like them. What Else Is There and a lot of Royksopp's work is fantastic (Royksopp Forever is probably my faveourite track by them), but they are nowhere near as consistent as LCD are (it's still present tense for another day 😢 ).

Nowhere near? Inconsistent is actually a word I'd use to describe LCD Soundsystem, just in general. 3 songs are listenable on This Is Happening, its a surprisingly bad album. The first was average at best, so he's had only one really good album. I really don't see how you couldn't classify any of Royksopp's albums as less than great.

And like what you want to like, don't let me stop you...

I have to admit i'm kinda surprised you don't like animal collective

O.K. Jhereko, please explain to me why you didn't tell joyofdivision the same thing you told me about "this thread is about bands that formed after 2000"

Can you say HYPOCRITE Jhereko

because he clearly attempted to make it about bands who's major work was in the 2000's (with Radiohead being arguable either way). no one could argue (even Maiden fans) that Iron Maiden's best and major work was during the 2000's.

Your right Jhereko. I'm a little grumpy right now. And Iron maiden is my favorite metal band by far. So I get toutchy when they get attacked.

So I will say ARCTIC MONKEYS then.

"All time" GARY this is a thread referring to the 2000's (specifically bands that debuted in the 2000's) please don't get all antsy when you're the one who initially started posting misplaced comments.

I don't give a rat's ass what this thread is about Jhereko.

You're not really surprised that an irrelevant 80's metal band wasn't mentioned in a thread where people were getting flak for putting white stripes in their tops are you?

Iron Maiden ? is it that band where my gran'ma do the vocals ?

I don't know Frenchi, your Grandma is next to me in bed, I'll ask her when she is able to answer. She has something in her mouth right now.

you just thought that in your first post there was not enough aggressiveness and insults ?

btw don't bother with insults about France and being in bed with my gran'ma, they just make you look pathetic.

anyway my point was that Iron Maiden was far from being an enough good band in the 00s to be mentioned in any best artist's list.

ummmm.. No cartoken, it is you who is pathetic. As is your granny. She spit instead of swallowing. I hate that.

Say hi to your grandma from me and tell her she's one damn good singer. Kinda ugly for a woman, but you don't have to tell her I said that.

just say hi simply to any old woman in the street, 'cos she certainly has the same voice than the singer of Iron Maiden.

Yeah, definitely 😮

Anyway, yeah, new Iron Maiden is sorta like Dominick's pizza. It's always "pretty good", but it never really gets that high above that. Maiden has been like that since Seventh Son IMO.

But that wouldn't make them IRRELEVANT as Jhereko called them IMO.

And they are still a great live band and I think few bands would want to come on to play after Iron Maiden.

fair enough, but IMO it does when you consider the thousands of more exciting and relevant artists producing music in the 00's.

Watch these video's and then tell me that Iron Maiden are not relevant or exciting.
Do you know who the pilot of IM's private 757 jet is?

THE SINGER FOR IRON MAIDEN - BRUCE DICKINSON 😁
