I think if this spat is being brought up jokingly, it's just light teasing, but I guess... too soon? I think for some reason at this point in time there is a real... I donno... suspicion whenever a user says something off-handed, it seems to either being taken at literal face value or "are they really joking? they seem really agressive". It's kind of starting to get ridiculous. Im sure everybody jokes and ribs around with their friends outside BEA and they still know they are good friends through and through, for the most part I always thought the more intimate BEA forums had that same sort of comradarie, but it's starting to lose that a little bit as perhaps we just are starting to learn a little bit tooo much about each other's personal lives. Well if I ever look like Im trolling or mocking you, Im not really being serious or straight-faced about it, and I love you all.

I think we need a little less playing-the-victim and pointing the finger and actually just work hard to defend what we say and what we believe, or else there's no point in saying anything at all. All of which will do a world of good especially when it comes to cultivating engaging, in-depth discussions in the immediate future about music, art, world events etc.

Okay maybe this is mostly for Jack. So he could see my point of view. I would be content to just let this all pass if I didn't get the sense that BEA is mocking me. So clearly telling Jack to go fuck himself was uncalled for. I'm sorry, Jack. Jack does deserve a medal for making me dislike him for a while. I find it hard to dislike people but I disliked him for a bit. I'm less emotional now but BEA still feels glaringly different. It makes me not want to post, but I love a lot of BEA members, and I can definitely see from the thread and the posthumous responses to what went down in the thread, that there are lots of users who care for me as well. Maybe I'm wording this in a way that will cause more problems. Hope not. Regardless, think of it this way: I saw BEA as a loving, caring community that you could open up to, and I saw the BEA Support thread and I let something slip about my life. People jumped on it and I thought, "Well, maybe I can have some of that support BEA is all about" And, you know, it was nice and all, but I then realized I did not like being the center of attention and I did not like having my life put up in the forefront, it was overwhelming, and I hated the feeling of everyone tearing apart my life, even if everyone was trying to help, so I asked for everyone to stop (which, looking back, I shouldn't have expected to work, especially considering how emotionally my response was fueled and the way I felt the urge to disappear). So then, next morning, I see Jack's post and of course sensitive me started crying and freaking out.

While you can tell it comes from a place of care, especially considering the following paragraph, (something I did indeed ignore in the flurry of my emotion) it is incredibly wrong in my eyes to tell me that a person I love, that the said person knows nothing about, is likely incredibly damaged just because it is slightly taboo. Jack does not know my girlfriend (note: she is actually very stable, she volunteers at her local hospital and is in school, she wants to major in psychology), but just because of our age, he has these wild assumptions. And then he frames it as nothing but me rejecting all second opinions (in addition to being incredibly condescending to the lovely younger users I am friends with)...Like, am I the only one who, even setting aside my emotions, finds that incredibly fucked up? Like I said, I do see now that it was from a place of concern, something I did not see then, but I still wish there was more of an attempt at seeing my perspective, so that we're all on the same page. Of course my response was emotional. But I don't see it as something BEA should constantly mock. Maybe it's still just paranoia. I think I remember Tekin posting that we all have flaws and that mine was a lack of critical thinking or something of the sort? I thought that was pretty spot on (love you Tekin <3). But then, I don't think the BEA Support thread should have a focus on critical thinking, it should have a focus on empathy, I don't think anyone would refute that. And some of what I received (that I paid any attention to, still feel bad about ignoring posts but I don't think it would make sense to go read them now) wasn't empathetic. I'm sorry if something I say here pisses people off. I'm just trying to fix my relationship with some of the users on here, since there is obviously still a little bit of negativity (maybe a large part of that from me) which ought to be addressed.

Maybe this is just that over sensitivity that Saoirse was talking about. Oh well. At least in all of this I gave Jack my apology, which he deserved. And I'm also sorry to the rest of the members who were trying to help that I flippantly disregarded. Love you guys. Hope you guys can tell that this post was well-intentioned. Also I realize that Jhereko's post was really flippant and maybe not even applying to me but I still needed to get stuff off my chest so here you go.
