This is one of the strangest threads ever. It's like people are picking random albums at times. You would think an album which one enjoyed most would make one most happy. This thread is showing the wind range of albums which can make people happy.

Yeah... The Lemon of Pink is heartbreaking 🤣 And most of that album is pretty down-tempo too.

I'm surprised multiple people think of The Books' albums as happy albums. Songs like The Lemon Of Pink, Don't Even Sing About It, Contempt and ESPECIALLY Enjoy Your Worries, You May Never Have Them Again definitely don't strike me as happy. I wouldn't call them "melancholy" either, more "dark" or "nocturnal".

Whenever there is a bit of dissonance between lyrics and music I tend to feel the music, not the lyrics. Also sometimes melancholy can be a happy melancholy. Emotions are weird. 😜
