Finally gave it a listen yesterday. Definitely hear the Basinski influence. I didn't love it as much as others here, but I know this is a record that's also gonna get better and better with repeat listens. Great rec.

I have nothing of value to add here, just want to say that I enjoyed this immensely. Close to my top 5 of the year so far.

I enjoyed it. On first impression I preferred the 2nd track. Not sure why.

One Quarter Descent by The Fun Years

Sitting on one of those horrible, pebbly, English beaches on a miserable day, watching the tide bring with it a load of wind-up radios, each of them wheezing its last breath before they fall silent forever.

So this pick was a toss-up between a few albums (Conan, Frankie Cosmos, YG all came to mind), but in the end I went with my gut instinct. I don't know a lot about this band, but they're dope. It's a turntablist and a guitarist as far as I know, and they craft gentle, melodic, almost Basinski-esque droning soundscapes. I've been completely addicted to this album since I first heard it, to the point where listening to it has become a daily ritual. Check it.
