ove the fact that the majority of the people on this site truly prove that good classic music will always outlast and be more popular to true music connesuiurs. Majority of pop is feed to the sheep of this world and it makes me sad that the mass public is attracted to such fleeting garbage. I do like some pop one hit wonders, but they are few and far between.

So I hadn't heard Down in the DM before that is pretty fun. That whole style of music, when it gets self aware, gets all the better, and it seems to acknowledge the flaws with the sort of "whoos" and use it to its advantage. I think U Guessed It did that well too. IDK a lot of those sort of trap-ish hip hop songs blend together and they need something to stand out so sometimes being ridiculous seems the best way.

As to the other stuff ... Work ironically may be my least favorite of them all. I still think Bieber's new direction is good but Love Yourself wasn't his best, Stressed Out isn't the best off the album, actually the more I look at this the more it feels familiar, almost all of these were top 10 last time I looked, weird. Piece By Piece is not my thing at all, and 7 Years feels like it's not sure if it should be Renegade or 100 Years.

I'm sad to see Roses have fallen, still like that one, I Took A Pill In Ibiza's alright, not perfect, but better than Cooler than Me - not as fun but just as a song better I think. Puth is terrible.

Also boo when did GDFR fall off the chart because that was a fun one and this is coming from someone who vocally complained about Sage The Gemini a lot.

Also for what it's worth glad to see Chainsmokers take a new direction and that it's actually getting well received. Sort of assumed they'd Baauer off the face of the earth with one novelty, but they've actually done some alright stuff.

Actually while I'm here I was curious so my thoughts about all the top 10:

Pillowtalk is OK. Vocals are nothing special but the instrumental is actually pretty cool and airy. Would 100% listen to an album of instrumentals like that.

Purpose isn't doing it for me but I recognize that I would've been really into this a couple years back, the vocals are actually a pretty good blend of produced and natural

Sorry loses me a little bit more but feels considerably more dance friendly than Purpose so maybe that's the point?

Stressed Out is the 5th best on the album, but of things that realistically could get radio play, it's way better than Heavydirtysoul or Ride, though I adore "Tear In My Heart" in comparisson. It was a weaker album than Vessel but I'm glad to see them get recognition.

Hello is basically what I was expecting from Adele, she hasn't done it for me in a while but I can recognize she's a talented vocalist at least. Is also indirectly responsible for Busta's best verse to date and one of Chance's so ... I'll take it.

Never been HUGE on Drake, but this seems weak even by his standards. There's a lot of stuff he's put out I prefer to this.

Speaking of things Drake was better on, Drake and Rihanna work (see what I did there 😉 ?) pretty well together, and while the song seems a little weird tone wise - too slow/serious for some situations but a little too upbeat for most serious listens - this is actually pretty good. Could do without the weird autotuned outro.

So Flo Rida was ... I think honestly the first rapper I ever heard, either him or T-Pain, my parents weren't big on hip-hop's existence and didn't listen to pop radio so I was pretty sheltered until my 5th grade class decided to name our pet fish after him. (true story) Anyways, this is pretty alright by his standards but there's so many better hip-hop songs in general, and even ones that have been popular recently (GDFR, for example, is a banger and a half)

Speaking of my bizarre suburban experience with hip-hop, G-Eazy was popular with the crowd of people I know who like Mac Miller, Macklemore, and Lil Dicky but somehow are limited in their rap listening to just them. Wonder why? A couple finally branched out to Drake, so you know, that's totally diverse then, right? Anyways, as a result didn't exactly have high expectations, and it basically delivered what I was expecting. Back in the late 2000s when B.o.B. was getting big, there were a lot of Vh1 morning videos of "it's rapper and singer doing thing" that never really stood out from each other and this would just about fit in. (The only real standouts in my memory from then, frankly, are Airplanes, 5 O'Clock, Nothing on You, and Billionaire, and that's mostly because I loved Bruno Mars from the first second I heard him and Lily Allen blew me away vocally)

Figured I’d bring this back to the forefront since the year is getting along nicely and with some new members maybe we can have this thread be consistently in its participation. Anyway it seems I’m not too familiar with the current top 10 but what I am familiar with (Rihanna, Bieber, Adele) I have rather warm reception to in general outside of “Hello” which I thought was pretty much what I expected from Adele at this point of her career and I do like some of what is going on there.

I'm a big fan of all three artists and I'd rank each of these songs in the top 5 of their careers.

Can't Feel My Face (alongside My Side by Drake and Coffee by Miguel) is in the running for my song of the year.

I actually don't mind it, the chorus from Kiss is a bit hokey but given the nature of the collaboration it's pretty neat. Though I'm not super surprised, after all Gene's son is a big fan of Japanese culture. It's pretty interesting that they sought out a collaboration... but it's not as weird as BISkaidan for example:

I think the new Taylor Swift album may be out tomorrow or very soon. Which is a good thing because Cheryl will be releasing album soon.

I've fallen behind with the charts lately. 😮 I mean some of the songs are passing me by without me knowing. I think Eminem has a new one out for the new greatest hits, I wonder how it compare to 'When I'm Gone'?.

Where I work has no radio right now so I don't hear the new singles getting released which is shame.

I really really hate this one with every fiber of my being. Not only is it removing Taylor of her identity and allowing her to make her write the most embarrassing and pathetic lyrics of her career (a challenge I know, even as a fan) it just seems just so... derivative. I don't call many things bad and while it is catchy, at least I can appreciate previous infectious earworms without being so angry such as "Call Me Maybe" and "Problem". This is just so.... bad to the point it transcends how bad it actually is.

The currently top 3 song on Billboard Hot 100. some interesting shit going out there.

Number 1 we have Taylor Swift, honestly it's a great pop song, it's going to be played in every club, party and radio for the next 6 months. My only problem with the song, is that it's from Taylor Swift. I like her more "country pop" style.
