One of my favourite things about Norman is that even when we have disagreements, they're always fruitful disagreements. I always feel like I've benefited after reading a Norman post. Congrats on the win.

OK, so here's my try at apologizing for this stolen win 😄

I'm very moved for this, guys. It's been a solid 5 years since I joined in, and I can safely say BEA is like a second home. It's the first thing I check out when I connect, even before my mails. Besides the obvious gold mine of recs and sheer musical awesomeness this community has to share, what strikes me the most in BEA, as opposed to other music sites, is this sense of community. It seems to me you can almost always feel like you actually know the people behind their desks, seem them laugh, get angry, feel sad, cheer you up, suggest the right song for anybody else's mood, feel like you belong - and still never hesitate to tell you when you obviously are wrong.

I am also extremely impressed, being one of the older guys, by how much you young people know, and maybe more importantly, how you word it. Wish I'd been as clever, witty, articulate and knowledgeable as you are when I was your age. You young people rock and are incredible. You older guys are too. Everybody is.

The other thing I'd like to say, considering my main interest in life (besides my family) is first and foremost 'popular music' in its broadest (?) sense, is how modest and curious this site has made me. I used to think I knew a lot, shit if I knew anything. I know some of you guys have expressed some form of respect for an alleged 'musical knowledge' (whatever that may mean) that I am supposed to have, well, what strikes me the most is how much I had to learn from you, and how much much more I still have to discover. You have opened me to metal (+subgenres), emo, post-dubstep, post-hardcore, post-everything, proto-more, and of course everything that's new and exciting and I had sort of given up on. That includes the most spectacular return of interest for hip-hop, at a time when I practically couldn't bother anymore.

If anything is a sign of what I have to thank you for, it's this: my wishlist consists of 546 fucking pages (and running) of recs you got me interested into through charts, discussions, rapid mentions, fights, jokes, whatever. With this in mind, I am extremely flattered that some of you should think I can return the favour and be of use.

Of course, but I'm waiting for next January. I'll have some different categories next time, though the obvious ones (Best post, Best thread etc...) will stay the same.

Sorry about the delay, and that unspectacular ending, but you know, laziness real life, etc. The objectively meilleur of us all is aussi the Frenchest, our cher Norman. Congrats for being awesome! And congrats to all the other participants of course, and especially the defeated finalists.

Organizing this was a pleasure as usual, and it went as smoothly as last year. Cheers to all of you (yes, even you joj) for being respectful to each other, it once again shows how wonderful and precious this community is. See you next year maybe?

All of them are great users, but out of all of them: CellarDoor is the most influential. Not to diss Norman or revolver either, they're both great too.
