To echo the sentiments of others, these are two of the best albums in the tournament. Going with Snowball, but it'll be a shame to see either go out at this stage.

I’ve been finding myself humming songs from both these albums the past couple of days. Pretty impressive ‘cause I really don’t hum very often.

The Field Mice's End of the Affair is simply lovely in its sadness and resignation. One of the best breakup songs I've ever heard and really packs an en emotional wallop. Most of the album is pitch perfect twee pop, and one of the best representations of that genre. But, whereas, The Field Mice recall a more fey Galaxie 500 or the chiller, dreamier songs on Ride’s Nowhere, or hell even The Lightning Seeds, I’m kind of at a lost to find bands that sound like Visitor. The creative energy, versatility & uniqueness on display here make it an album I'll probably come back to often. For an acoustic two-piece, they really rock.

Wow. This is hard. I've been spinning Snowball a lot more recently, and only listened to Visiter once... but either way, I think I prefer Snowball. Vote to that.

I think either one of these could win the ENTIRE tourney. They're both slow burns & I see BOTH growing on people as they listen to them. There's a little bit of cross-pollination with these two albums (check out the track Winter by the Dodos) making this a fair & interesting fight.

I'm not deciding until Sunday at 4 pm. This is easily the TOUGHEST matchup yet.

Ho-hum, this is difficult.

Well, Snowball was on my chart for a pretty decent amount of time and is still really close. If I had a top 150 if would still be there for sure. It's one of the albums I was most familair with going into the tournament, and one that'd I'd be hard pressed to vote against. It's one of the most wonderful jangly twee albums ever made. Full of love and cheer and good hope. It's fantastic anyways.

The Dodos, on the other hand, are a band I had seen a lot in catalogs for Polyvinyl stuff from Of Montreal albums I had bought in the past. I'd been meaning to listen to them for ages. Now that I have, I'd say this album reminded me why I sometimes really love indie folk. Visiter is what I wish Grizzly Bear would sound like, with hints of early Antlers. It's really pretty and well written and doesn't sound over embellished or trite. Basically what I want in indie folk. I could see myself loving this album a lot in time, and I'm already a big fan of it.

Giving it to The Field Mice, but it's close, and this is probably the match up I've liked the two albums most in so far. Also Happy how do you see Weakerthans in Dodos? They're really different sounding, Reconstruction Site included.

Liked them both, voted for the Flightless Ones (hint: mice can fly if you throw them hard enough).

Voted for The Field Mice, but The Dodos did a pretty good job with this album. I can't say I'll be returning to The Dodos in the future though.

Really enjoyed Snowball. Some elements of REM, Go-Betweens and Stone Roses, but never quite reaching the levels of any of those 3 bands. Still quite good though.

I loved this Dodos album when it came out. And every album by them since then has been horribly disappointing in comparison. This album has some excellent percussion, fine fingerpicking and tons of energy. "The Season" and "God?" are great end of album jams. Saw The Dodos a few times around the time this album was released and they were great. Plus this album has my lady's song on it...

Two of the best records of the tourney. I already knew Visiter because joy had promoted it a bit before this and it had piqued my interest, so I have a longer "history" with it, but Snowball was quite frankly wonderful as well. I'll throw my vote towards The Dodos, but tbh this matchup happening so early is quite depressing.

I haven't finished the Dodos yet (listening to it right now), but The Field Mice album is just straight up brilliant Twee Pop. It's one of the best of that particular genre.

So far, The Dodos remind me of bands like The Weakerthans (more so their reconstruction site album than anything), Bowerbirds, Department Of Eagles, Decemberists, etc. so that means it's promising; we'll see how it works out.
