No Day 6/7 since I've been to London all weekend. It was very fun. But I didn't listen to any albums there, so nothing to report. And since it's almost midnight, I might as well sign off. In hindsight, I could have picked a less busy week, but oh well. Got some good recs from this chart that I will report on elsewhere.

Life's A Riot With Spy Vs Spy by Billy Bragg
Very simplistic album. Very short as well. Feels more like an EP than it does an album. But it hosts incredible songwriting talent.

He's been seriously ill a couple times, nearly died in 2005 from pneumonia and also underwent chemotherapy for an unspecified illness over the recording of Sweet Heart Sweet Light. He's reportedly healthy now, but when someone has done that many drugs in their life you can never be sure they don't have some lingering shit.

Revolver by The Beatles
Yes, this album is incredible. I love it to bits. But it still perplexes me how many think it's the best Beatles album. Fair enough, it's your opinion. But tracks like She Said She Said, Doctor Robert and Love You To are just woeful. But the good really outweighs the bad here. I'm Only Sleeping, And Your Bird Can Sing and For No One are amongst my favourite Beatles songs. Hell, I even like Yellow Submarine.

We Need Medicine by The Fratellis
This album is finally starting to grate on me. I think I may have listened to it with rose tinted headphones on my first listens, but now it's gone from my chart, I can see it in a less fanboy-ish light. It is very, very good. But it is no way top 100 material. There are lots of brilliant tracks, but they just don't fit together as an album. I still really like it though.

Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space by Spiritualized
First time I've heard this album in a while. Seeing these guys live on Saturday supporting The Libertines, absolutely buzzing! Anyway, this is an incredibly consistent and immersing album. My love for it grows with every listen, however the last track is crap. Should have been a hidden track, or saved for another album, as I don't think it's a fitting finish to it. Ah well. Great album, regardless.

Finally, we have a new BAWP of the month, and a bawpier one than me.

Illmatic is brilliant though, probably my single favorite Hip-Hop record.

Ramones by Ramones
It's impossible not to like Blitzkrieg Bop. Let's face it, it's a bona fide classic. However, the rest of the album feels a bit lackluster after that storming opener. It's something that I can't quite put my finger on, but this album failed to live up to my expectations. Alas, this is my first listen, so it could improve on further listens.

The Shape Of It by True Live

I still like it a lot. Maybe it would change your perspective?

The other two landmark hip-hop records for me where Biggie's Ready To Die (the first one I truly loved) and Mobb Deep's The Infamous (the first one that totally blew away each single piece of my mind). I used to dislike that genre as well, so take it from someone who's been in your situation.

Will add that to my listen list, will hopefully cover it in this log too, thanks!

First listen. It might be one of the most boring and samey albums I've ever heard. If I had a pound for every time he said his own name and 'nigga', then I would be loaded. Every track just sounds the same and some of the lyrics just come across as arrogant. I would like some more rap/hip hop recs, but so far, I don't think it's for me.
