Didn't see this, though for me, this would be helpful. I've tried to rig a system so I can have one computer doing the original song, my dad's computer recording and showing the (little) sheet music I've worked out, and a music stand for noting what's working and what isn't all around a single chair, but I get lost much too easily in all the different parts. I know there'd still be a lot on there by the time it made it to me, but this would help.
The idea is that I'll put together a rhythm track joining all those we get together, and i'll stitch the multiple leads together on top so at all times only one or two leads sound at the same time. There are many lead parts on the original song, so you can follow whichever one you want or completely improvise (over the specified chords ofc).

You're absolutely right. That was a typo, meant to write 90. The actual tempo is around 92-94, if I'm not mistaken, though.

                          Posted: 03/21/2014 23:33

Let's get started. I'm going to set a few parameters so the song comes out relatively coherent-ish. Besides what I say here, anything goes, though.

-We're going to be working on 90 bpm throughout the song, to make my life easier when joining the tracks. I don't want to spend a week adjusting the tempos on every track, and also it'll sound shitty if I don't do it perfectly. Also 4/4.

-We're all going to contribute to both the lead part and the rhythm part, by taking turns being the lead (except for the drums and probably bass, who can't perform lead accurately. Also if you'd rather not do lead/rhythm let me know.)

-The song is pretty simple. It's basically 2 bars of E major followed by 2 bars of B major throughout the song, except in the bridge (with the race car sounds) which is 1/2 bar of E major followed by 1/2 bar of B major. The E major chord is also sustained for an additional 2 bars at the end of each "portion" of the "verse". In this way, the structure of the song would be:

Intro E E B B
Verse 1 ( E E B B E E B B E E )
Verse 2 ( E E B B E E B B E E )
Bridge ( EB EB EB EB EB EB EB EB ) [note each chord lasts for half a bar, making this whole thing almost as long as a verse]
Verse 3 ( E E B B E E B B E E E E )

-The optimal would be for every user to make a rhythm track following the whole song structure, and a separate lead track consisting of either four bars (E E B B), six bars (E E B B E E) or a whole verse (E E B B E E B B E E). You can follow the original song, improvise and make a completely new thing, or whatever you'd like. It'd be cool to at least have a couple of leads follow the original to keep a slight resemblance to the original.

-Both "drums" users will need to arrange between them how to work this out, one might do percussion and the other drums or something like that.

-Certain users such as Lethal and Brandon can disregard all of this completely.

-I'd appreciate it if you sent your files in as high quality as possible, with as much volume as possible without clipping.

-Dunno what else... We're not really in a hurry, so take your time. Any opinions/questions?

I don't really play it to a great extent, but I was thinking of just messing about with it I guess, seeing as there was already a ukulele contribution from you, I was just gonna try something creative. Not sure what yet. I could also contribute a pair of scissors.
