Yeah, D and F are next to eachother on the keyboard so it must've just been a typo. I meant Diamonds Are Forever. However, Die Another Day is absolutely atrocious as well, though, while we're there.

I think Roger Moore is honestly the worst one. As someone who's also read the books (and someone who likes compelling/serious film) I like my Bonds with a heavy dose of seriousness. Moore was pathetically campy at times, he made some of the worst films in the series, and he should've quit after TSWLM. Though, I suppose I wouldn't be as mad if he'd stayed until FYEO because that one was pretty fucking boss too.

Pierce Brosnan is second worst for me, for a lot of the same reasons as Moore as far as his movies sucking and stuff. But what bugs the shit out of me is that he tried to be Connery, and failed. Seriously, it feels like he's just constantly trying to emulate Connery in his movies. The way he carries himself, the suaveness he tries to have no matter what he's doing (seriously, he makes driving a fucking tank look like he's just sitting down sipping a martini.) He dropped this for the most part after GoldenEye, and it's pretty much entirely absent after Tomorrow Never Dies, but even so, it bothers me. And again, his movies aside from GoldenEye were garbage.

But then I get to the remaining four, and it could go any way for me. Connery was the original, he made some of the best Bond movies ever (let's just not acknowledge Diamonds Are Forever's existence aside from this bracket) and as an actor rather than as a Bond, he's the best by a thousand miles.

But then we get to Lazenby, who I think gave an amazing performance; that, and OHMSS is the greatest Bond film ever made. I'll give a more in-depth defense of him if someone challenges me to it, but he's seriously in the running for being the best Bond ever for me.

And then Dalton was basically the closest to the books. Underrated actor and even more underrated Bond. The Living Daylights is a quintessential Bond film, and Licence To Kill is only flawed because it deviated way too far from the Bond formula; as an actual movie, in terms of filmmaking quality, it's probably in my top five, but as a Bond film I rank it 11th. Dalton is (appropriately) my rehab after I sit through either of the last two Moore films (or Moonraker for that matter).

But Craig is something else. Craig's films have transformed the franchise IMO. Whereas I've always considered Bond films to be different from other films - in terms of plot structure, characterization, writing, etc. - Craig's movies, Casino Royale and Skyfall especially, have been more like conventional films. They almost don't feel like Bond films even though they have most or all of the elements of Bond films. Skyfall is the one Bond film that is giving OHMSS a run for its' money in my ranking of them, and Craig's performance is outstanding.

I'd say it's probably as so:

4: Moore
3: Brosnan
2: Connery = Lazenby < Dalton
1: Craig

But that's very rough. I don't think I'll ever be able to confidently rank the top four.
