I see what you are saying; it is most likely true in general and sort of makes sense.... this is why for my overall chart, I have put the extra "effort" to equally represent all decades from the 60's to the 10's... had I not done that, it would be full of 60's, 70's and 80's albums, precisely how you are describing it... 🤣

I would say my "prime" music listening was in my teens and early 20's, which would've been the late 70's and 80's. That tends to color my point of view on music, in particular the music from the 60's-80's. I have a fondness for music from that era.

However, I am pleasantly surprised that 40% of my chart is made up of music from the 90's onward. I wouldn't think I hold that many 'new" albums in high esteem. So I am not really sure if I help your argument or hurt it. 🤡

But it shouldn't be surprising that people feel a certain way about music at different ages in their lives.

I propose chart content and rankings are heavily affected by member age distribution. My proposal isn't quite intuitive; however; I certainly don't have the statistics to support my statement. I think each person has a period or periods in their life when they are more "into" or influenced by the music they listen to. Just looking at album decade distribution reflects the likely age range of a member. This should not be construed as anything other than narrative based on observation; it is not going to be true in all and maybe many cases.
