Weird. The way you both described how you feel about both bands, is exactly how I feel about them.
I mean Serenity does have an atmosphere that comes from their music, and Porcupine Tree is a band that just makes me think. Maybe that sounds really stupid, but that is why I really enjoy their music.

@Gary, I guess PT isn't so much focused on being uplifting as probing the human psyche. Although I do find them uplifting in their own way.

It was a tough call I mean today I would maybe vote for PT. The main thing is that I found 2 great bands from this fight. IMO that's really what it's all about on BEA. 😁

I admit I only listened to couple of songs by Serenity, but I'm gonna go with Porcupine Tree. In Absentia and Fear of a Blank Planet are both very good albums IMO.
