Anyone know what Sacramento is doing? How many egos on one team?

They traded Splitter to make room for Aldrige, which of course doesn't really mean too much but their frontcourt isn't THAT stacked thank god. Still unbelievably stacked though. They're certainly co-favorites to make it out of the west next season along with the Dubs.

Sacramento is hilarious yet somehow managed to put together a decent roster of good NBA players, or passable at least. It'll be great to see how it blows up.

Those 2 should be the next point Gods and I hope they have a nice pair or nba careers. But anyway, Mudiay will be a stud. Should have gone 3. wtf sixers? I mean Okafor is mad talented, but damn y'all have Noel and Embiid already. Unless they trade one of those dudes away next year or later this for some good guards, I don't understand their logic.

Think the Sixers will probably try to trade Embiid away at this point. Not sure how smart that is, but I don't think they needed Mudiay necessarily. I'm less confident about him becoming an NBA shooter and decision maker, feel like those are two really important skills he doesn't have yet. I think he'll be good eventually but not as good as Russell. I feel like that are a lot of players in this draft who could be the best though, I love the chances Hezonja, Porzingis, Towns, Winslow, and Russell have to be come all-stars. Mudiay and Okafor to a lesser extent for me.

Very interesting draft. Knicks did really well getting Porzingis and Grant. Lakers did some interesting stuff, signals to me they really expect to be getting some all star big man in free agency. Also I looooooooove the Magic taking Mario Hezonja at five, he's gonna fit so well there and be awesome and become the Croatian Kobe. Heat lucked out too getting Winslow, if they lose Wade they'll still be a playoff contender with him and Dragic.

Tbf about the whole "no love+irving meant Warriors win was less valid" I don't think Kevin Love ever really fit that well with the team, despite bringing offense and starpower; in the end of it all they probably should've kept Wiggins especially as it's highly unlikely Love will be sticking around much longer. And it's impossible to tell how Irving being healthy would've affected the series, perhaps would've taken away some things (namely, better defense and perhaps a not quite-as-inspired Lebron performance) as well as obviously bringing more depth (and taking the minutes+scoring load off Lebron) back to the table.

And the thing is a team winning a championship either as a first for the franchise or in the warriors case the first in a couple of generations, always, surprisingly, brings some criticsm, and it really takes that . Even with the great season and playoff run the Rockets had back in 94, everybody was still in a sort of Michael Jordan hangover, and that they only won because Air Jordan wasn't around. When they won the championship again next year they finally were cemented as one of the best teams of the era. Same for the Spurs who won in the lockout-shortened 99 season, it took those dominant mid-00s championship runs to kind of prove the franchise's true staying power as a dyansty. So I guess in short The Warriors by all means deserved the championship, but as always they are going to need to do it again to silence the unavoidable criticism that follows a first win, particularly in a series like they just won.

But i agree without about the difference of Irving and Love being healthy. We have no idea how that team would have played.

Exactly. It's a totally different series with those two there, and honestly I think the tone of that series would fit the Warriors better. As Stone plagiarized from me, the Warriors do best against faster, more offensively based teams than what the Cavs became, which is a grind it out, defensively based team. With Irving and Love in the fold, there's a lot more perimeter play, a lot more PnR action, and defending that is what the Warriors are best at. They'd be able to implement their switching more frequently than in what was essentially a series of Lebron iso-ball. Lebron's numbers wouldn't be as ridiculous with Irving and Love out there too, I always found it a bit of a misnomer when people say they were losing 30-40 points a night with those guys out, the shots went to other people. Curry would have abused Irving, Green would have frustrated Love, and the Cavs still never really had that much of a bench even with those two healthy. Of course, the final result is impossible to tell, it would have been a different series completely, but my money would be on the Warriors still, probably in 7.
If Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love had been healthy, do you think the Warriors would've still won?

No. Cavs would've won in 6 if Kyrie was healthy. With Love too? Cavs in 5 or 6. Look at the abomination which was the Cavs back court shooters in that series, then add a 75% Kyrie? Add a healthy Love hitting threes and stretvhing the floor, yeah the Cavs win that series with those 2. In my mind at least.

See I'm not sure I'd agree with this. If everyone was healthy the Cavs wouldn't have gotten Mozgov (as a temporary replacement), which is a big part of their defensive identity now. Speaking of defensive identity the Cavs only really figured that out after Love was injured so I'm definitely intrigued to see how it's going to work when he's back in the fold. Also, Im comfortably sure that Kyrie wouldn't have been able to guard Steph as well as Delevadova was (though Steph was having an offnight anyway so that's a discussion for another time). Finally though (and I'm shamelessly stealing Silver's point here with this last one, sorry mate), the Warriors historically do better with teams that are faster paced and struggle with slower paced defensively oriented ones. It's a reason why they struggle against the Grizzlies and the Pacers (pre Paul George injury). When you've got players like Kevin Love on court, it speeds up the game and makes it more offensive and you lose valuable defensive players that can control the game (like Tristan Thompson). I think a better question to ask would be if JR Smith was actually scoring like he did in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter would the series be a different story.

You may be right. If nothing else, a healthy Irving and/or Love takes much of the load off of Lebron. His minutes were insane and he was clearly gassed at the end.

Great season for the Cleveland Cavaliers! That was a well-fought Finals series! Props to Golden State for pulling through! They were an all around solid team that deserves their victory! '

But we will be back next season... 😈

                          Hypothetical question:

If Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love had been healthy, do you think the Warriors would've still won?

Before the season I felt really confident in this team. Looking at the roster from top to bottom it seemed stacked. I bought into Klay improving enough to warrant not trading for love, I thought Kerr was going to turn the Warriors offense into something special. In my predictions at the beginning of the season I was a bit tempered because it seemed like everyone thought they would be a good team, 4 or 5 seed, and I thought maybe I was just being a homer. Still, I never thought they were going to win the championship this year, and honestly I still am having trouble believing it. Watching the Warriors this season has been the best time I've ever had watching basketball, and even if they keep winning titles in the future I don't see any season matching the magic of this one. This was a special team. Still gonna take some time to digest it, but damn this was awesome.

So happy that Iggy won Finals MVP too. And that Livingston has a championship now. Heartwarming stuff.
