I tried it already, it's ok but Allmusic and Last.fm's Similar artists tool are far more accurate and has more variety and options

Spotify sent this "artist explorer" out.

Basically you search a genre or artist. It then gives you 1-20 related artists, and so on, and so on.
Also gives you samples and bios, etc

check it out, you do not need spotify.
