Mostly pop, reggae or britpop ones. wannabe by spice girls, mmmbop etc
i think britpop was the first time i took proper notice of bands, when i was 8.

Hard to say - guess some of the earliest songs I liked were two Paul McCartney songs that had memorable videos to go with them ('We All Stand Together' and 'Pipes of Peace') and I think I liked some Stevie Wonder songs as well when I was very young.

The first song of an "alternative" bent that I really liked was probably 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go' by The Clash (after it was used on some Levis ad or something in the early '90s).

Always loved American Pie.. Some of my happiest memories are of my brother and I singing our hearts out to it on those long summer top-down car trips 😎

One of my cousins gave me a walkman that he didn't want anymore. I was probably about 7 or 8 years old. I got in my grandma's car to ride home, popped on the headphones and hit play. There was a copy of Metallica's self-titled album in the player. I jammed the whole way home, and couldn't stop listening to that album for at least a couple years.

I guess my childhood was a lot different than most on this list. I grew up in rural Western Pennsylvania, during the early seventies, where most folks drove around in pick-up trucks listening to their country 8-tracks.

Here are a few songs that I remember playing a lot in that old pick-up truck:

Sweet Child Of Mine, More than a Feeling, pretty much anything with a good guitar hook. I really liked Intergalactic for some reason at about 5-6.

"The Boys of Summer" by the Ataris, "Praise You" and "The Rockefeller Skank" by Fatboy Slim, and "All Star" by Smash Mouth were all some of my favorite pop songs as a kid.

And it's still among my favorites ever. I used to just put this on repeat for hours when I was in elementary school. Probably my favorite Beach Boys song still.

Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. Little me loved it. Think my cousin had it on a burnt CD and I always wanted him to play it for me. I get why I was so in love with it, it is a super fun song.
