Like there's reasons beyond racism why macklemore's music is more palatable to the wider public.. he sings about clothes and parties not killing people and stuff, for one. Maybe if Kendrick made an album full of swimming pools he would have won..

Wow, Rosanne Cash got every American Roots award.

Glad for her, she's got a nice voice and "The River and the Thread" isn't a bad album. I don't find it awesome though.

Interesting how some people have found the album some place on their charts after the award.

Apart from that, I'm quite bored while I read the awards... I alredy stated that I'm not a fan of these awards.

Well, I'd been avoiding this thread because for the most part I just don't give a toss about The Grammys. Didn't think I'd've missed something like that.

I'll say of Tyler what I've heard a lot of Kanye - he can be an asshole, but he's an intelligent asshole, and one I still enjoy.

Oh, and at least Tenacious D seemed kind of confused by their win and are donating a bunch of money to Dio's cancer charity. And Macklemore said Kendrick should've won. Sure, the awards themselves suck, but in the end, as long as the artists make good music and acknowledge each other for making good music, isn't that what really matters?

I mean, without personally knowing the people involved in the selection process, there's really no way of truly knowing that. Was it racism that caused it? Maybe. I don't know. Maybe not.

But yeah I don't think Beck's success can be put down to racism, Sp4ce's point seems far more likely. If you look at the nominated albums, you've got G I R L and In The Lonely Hour which are within the same ballpark as Beyonce. Morning Phase was fairly unique amongst them.

Plus it's the fucking grammies. They gave Mumford the win in 2013. Of all the conversations - valid ones no doubt - to be had about music and race, the Grammies not awarding Beyonce isn't one. Shitty organisation with bad taste rewards boring album, that's it.
