Gotta say I'm not crazy about either of these teams. There's nothing here I dislike and there are plenty of albums I'd be happy to have in my collection, but the only thing that really inspires me to love is Lennon's solo debut. In a closer match-up, I'd probably give it more time and consideration, but voting 1970 here.

I'm not particularly in love with the 2000 team, so I think Rocky might have had a good shot at beating it... hopefully that doesn't mean Rocky has all his good stuff saved up for when I'm facing him.

Yeah. It's ridiculous to think that I graduated high school and started college that year, and there's members here who haven't even graduated from high school yet.

For whatever reason I heard that Shaggy song this weekend for the first time in like 3 or 4 years, and I can't say I was very happy about it. But Lift Your Skinny Fists is huge, I just enjoyed that Faraquet album, and there's nothing that stands out as completely awful. Voted for 2000 over 5 albums I don't hate but don't love. Also thanks to the 2000 team for convincing me to relisten to Stories From the City - I hated it the first time I heard it but really liked it this time.

Scorecard.

My methodology, for now is, rank the albums in each team. Best vs. best, 2nd best vs. second best, etc. Normally, Singles vs. Singles, but couldn't do that this time.

So:

Stories from the City > Moondance
The View from This Tower < Bridge Over Troubled Water
Supreme Clientele < Led Zeppelin 3
2010 Singles > John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band
Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas Toward Heaven > All Things Must Pass

Vote to Team Skinny Fists, 3-2

I still have a few albums to listen to, but I'm really liking the 2000 selection. Which surprised me, my Best of 1970 list is much longer than my best of 2000. (New favorite: Stories from the City). Either my ear for rap is getting better, or Supreme Clientele is just an all around awesome album. I even liked the ambiance of Lift Your you Fists Like Antennas, Skinny.

Yea, I definitely would've noticed a quick "hey I don't have your team yet" PM. If it's too much work, it's not really a big deal, but it would be nice. Ultimately though, I know the responsibility is on us.

Yeah... I do think there has to be something in place to avoid automated teams/forfeits, because this just isn't quite working. It's becoming apparent few are ever going to consider an automated team for a vote, and Im not voting in the match at all, so it's basically an automatic win for the opposing player, so overall a rather unfair advantage. Even though I know this is a hassle, and obv others can help, I think it's important to PM everybody at least a couple days before each match that they need to get their team in if they haven't done so already, while it;s often noted on the sticky thread it's still likely it will go un-noticed by some captains and users are more likely respond to a private message, so while that can be more work it def can at least help avoid situations like this. Or we just send in all our teams at once from here on in.

Also... do they get full points for a win in a forfeit? And facing an automated, single-less team is basically a forfeit, I donno that doesn't quite seem fair. Maybe Im just bitter cuz Im going to get pounded every round who knows, but I do think matches like this should all be avoided in the future.

And I just looked in the BYT thread and saw that Defago posted that he didn't have my team. I guess I just didn't see it, sometimes I miss stickied threads because they're up top. My bad, I won't let that happen again, I'm straight on the schedule now.

It's in the BYT thread that's stickied, you just click the word "Brackets". I guess in the end it's my fault for not looking at the schedule recently, but I just assumed that I wouldn't be going again for awhile, I didn't realize the way this was organized. Again, my fault, I'm sorry about that, especially to you Skinny, I know you made your team with the intention of going against someone else's best picks and you got an automated team, and I know that's a bummer, and I feel bad about that.
