Miasmata has a similar isolated feeling, but more survival-oriented and less surreal. "Imscared: A Pixellated Nightmare" is a bit like this, but more horror-oriented and super surreal. Machinarium has a bit of a Myst vibe in the way its world is designed, great atmosphere. Also, Cyan is currently working on a Myst-like game called Obduction, which I'm quietly hopeful about.

Definitely excited for Obduction. I'll check out the others you mentioned. Definitely agree with your "trespasser in an alien environment" feeling, which really does describe it pretty perfectly, and very few pieces of art in any medium have given me quite the same feeling.
Sure had, the last one is one of my all-time favourites, but it could be a good time to revisit the first two... Anyway decided to go with Linklater's Waking Life today...

My two favorite horror movies are Alien and Poltergeist. Both are very well-done. Alien had a little more story to it and plenty of suspense, wheras Poltergeist was a bit more about the jumps. It ended very well.

If you liked Rosemary's Baby, check Repulsion and The Tenant, also from Polanski. As far as modern Asian horror goes, A Tale of Two Sisters is my favourite. Miike's Audition is also great, his other movies aren't exactly typical horrors, but yeah if you like bizarre, he's pretty much the go-to director for that. Gozu really is quite something. That first scene man...

If we're here recommending horror films, I'm personally still searching for a solid psychological horror. I think The Babadook was the latest pretty great example. Need more. I'd prefer if they're not too campy (e.g. Suspiria, Carrie, Possession)

The Babadook? It's not as great as the films you've mentioned, but it's a good one nonetheless.

Inland Empire is not a horror film but has a similar nightmarish feel, I think you'll like it.
