Yo I saw the Gorillaz back in 2012. Ol Davie was fat as shit, they had him in this sort-of sailor outfit that was too small for him so his belly button kept popping out the whole show, he was just constantly trying to tuck it back into his pants. then, he tripped over one of the wires and his ass was hanging out for the whole audience to see, the funniest thing i've ever seen and a decidedly mediocre performance over all

Eh, I haven't been into much of Albarn's post-Blur stuff, either. It seems like he's a good bandleader, and that's something, but I've always found his songwriting to be very hit-or-miss.

Everyday Robots is the best of his solo work, but that's not a very high bar. Gorillaz is more interesting, but each album is worse than the one before it. Albarn's best work, by far, is with Blur, and Blur's best work came in the mid 90s.

So, to answer your question: Damon Albarn is a man. Graham Coxon is god.

You should definitely try Demon Days then. Arguably one of the best of it's decade IMHO.

He's one of my favourite musician and singer-songwriter from the past twenty years. I think he made both musically and virtually something very different and new with Gorillaz, although I'm more into his music with Blur.
Blur is amongst the rare groups with five or more albums, which are all great in my opinion (the only exception is maybe Leisure, but hey, not every band can make a groundbreaking debut album). Plus not many groups are capable of returning with a great album after more than ten years of break.

Not only Blur as a group but also Albarn could reinvent himself from time to time, his solo projects/albums, especially Everyday Robots are also good.

I don't think he isn't good enough in any particular thing. Blur was an era defining group in the 1990s and Gorillaz was also great.

Yes, I really like it. It's like a contemporary Parklife, slightly eccentric, but works in its favour.
