For a studio album? Most likely Gossip by Paul Kelly or maybe one of the Cold Chisel albums?

Excellent call, one of a number of great Aussie albums to come out so far this year, I'd also like to throw out:

Personally I'd have to go for:

Cross Paths by The Motifs

Or

(I'm) Stranded by The Saints

Or

Ten Dubs That Shook The World by Sheriff Lindo & The Hammer

Just noticed that no one posted in this since Currents by Tame Impala came out. I think it's their best album so if they are in consideration I'd say it has to be included.

Anything by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. I'd go for Let Love In.

I haven't seen a mention of the Triffids yet; otherwise Midnight Oil.
The choices in the poll don't really represent Australian music

Yes, he was born in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand, but also has Australian citizenship.

As the voting thing reminded me of them, I want to say Alt-J are perhaps the worse thing to happen to music ever.

EVER.

I'll give you 5 Aussie albums which I rate higher than those you have listed'

The Swing - INXS
Diesel and Dust - Midnight Oil
16 Lovers Lane - The Go Betweens
Starfish - The Church
Woodface - Crowded House

And all of these bands have other albums that are almost as good as these.

And then there is both Tame Impala albums.

And what kind of poll has Danni Minogue in it ? I can tell you her "music" is not taken seriously in Australia even amongst pop fans.
