Really tough choice. That 1994 singles team is just fucking ridiculous, and when you add Paradinas, Nas, and Germano to those, it makes for a very strong team overall (the other two albums are no slouches either). That said, the 2014 team is just more consistent, and - in Pinata, Syro, and Pom Pom - contains a triple-whammy of fantastic albums that even outdoes those three '94 records I mentioned. Don't particularly care for that B&S single, but 'Sobriety' and 'Down on My Luck' are two of my favourite singles of recent years. Voting 2014 by a whisker here, but a fantastic matchup.

Just wondered what you guys thought of the Codeine and uZiq albums?

And thanks Saoirse, I did try to make it an interesting lineup rather than going for the obvious choices.

Same. 1994 is tempting with Geek the Girl and Illmatic, but The Holy Bible just doesn't work for me. Gabe really unloaded this round with nothing but the highest quality.

Interesting matchup of captains. I have to say though 94 wins this easily, again another contender for best team Ive seen so far this tournament. Two all-time favorite albums, plus the excellent Illimatic and the essential White Birch (haven't heard the other though, will get on that... hopefully). Fantastic singles team. 14 again is very strong, but mostly has stuff I like and some stuff I really do (and one I haven't heard), but nothing I absolutely love. I see what you did there using Syro v 94 :P. Strong singles. But no easily 94, great work though by both captains.
