Seriously though, I wouldn't have minded any of the users in the final winning the whole thing. Congrats to the three of you!

You guys are seriously the best. I'm not kidding when I say BEA is my single favorite place on the internet, pretty much entirely because of this magnificent community of all you wonderful bastards. I really do consider you guys my friends and I'm just thrilled to be a part of this community, and am really honored (and completely surprised) by the outcome of the tourney, though I'd say the outcome is fairly irrelevant, and that the important part is that we all got a chance to spread some love to each other. Cheers to everyone who sent kind words & good vibes across the forums over the course of the tourney. You guys are what make BEA great. Keep on keepin' on 😉

Great final with 3 of BEA's best, and in Jonny and Gabe two big-time pluggers from whom I've picked up recs a plenty (as well as had a load of decent natters with).

In any other round I'd pick Mecca in an instant, but as I've been cheering for DBZ since he came up against Brun0 earlier in the tourney it would take a miracle for me to vote for anyone else. He's a great writer, has spot-on taste and's a sweetheart to boot. A wizard, a true star, and BEA's new golden boy.

I debated internally then I voted for Mecca. He's amazing. But so are these other 2 chaps. I just prefer Mecca's music taste (although his avatar makes it hard for me to take him seriously). He's grand.

My money/heart was on Repo. But really most all the best made it far here. Fun lil tourney I guess.

In all honesty all three of these users are amazing and deserving winners. I've gotten so much of my taste from Mecca, Space has given me lots of advice on life in general and helped me grow as a person, and Gabe is obviously a personal friend who I brought to this site and don't ever forget it. Been a good tourney.

Plenty of love for Mecca and sp4ce. Both really knowledgeable users with a lot to give to the community. Love plug sessions with Mecca, and the odd conversation with sp4ce is always really great.

However, I've basically been rooting for Gabe the past few rounds. I don't know if there's a person on here who's as all-round brilliant as him: knowledgeable, warm-hearted, kind, friendly, conversational, I could probably do a 9-to-5 weekly job listing everything that's great about Gabe for the rest of my life. But we already really know. So yeah, Gabe for best user, you adorable golden-hearted bastard, you!

I really appreciate the love that got me this far, but these two guys are way more knowledgable about music than I am and I'm sure I've learned way more from them than they have from me. And that's probably true of many of the users who have already been eliminated, too.

And not to take anything away from Johnny or Gabe, both of whom are both wonderful users and wonderful human beings, but what really makes BEA special is how it welcomes and celebrates music lovers all over the taste spectrum, even those who might not be the best communicators or the most immediately lovable personalities. Hopefully these head-to-head matches haven't made us lose sight of that.

Anyway, much love to all. I'm looking forward to many more years of great users and great music.

2013 was a Nice Year, right BEA?

So here we are in the big match we've been waiting to watch this Saturday (after we get drunk in the champions league finale!) These three guys deserve the all the praise and respect they have, but as they are getting all blooded of fighting until death and time is running out, I will throw my vote on the mayonnaise knowledge man, though this doesn't mean the wild voice of reason and the spacetiger who rides spaceships, are not vital for the breathing of the forums, Love you all but heading with mr Dbz to get the throne.

Also thanks for heading this three-headed monster dr Cuba and his ass-istant the gargoyle mr alel.
