You kind of implied that America = the whole world. A more appropriate title might be "Who do you love to hear sing the American national anthem?", or if you're feeling more inclusive, "Who do you love to hear sing your national anthem?"

Well that isn't how I meant it and if I did happen to offend anyone with how I worded the question, that was never once my intention.

God bless you always!!! 😄 😄 😄

Everything Squishy said was simply to benefit and educate JOS... it might of been said in a snarky manner, but it wasn't harsh. I can't think of a single reason to defend JOS in this situation. Her post shows how accurate the negative stereotypes of Americans are true 🤣

What Kiki said was probably slightly more appropriate and less offensive albeit.

Somehow I'm old enough to remember this:

If that's not the greatest public rendition ever, I don't know what is.

P.S. I am not crazy about certain things that I have seen said here and everywhere else that I go online, but do I constantly give grief to whoever says them things? No. Why not? Because I try to respect their right to say whatever it is that they want to say. 😄 😄 😄

Anyway, being Canadian and all, we only hear our national anthem sung by moose and hockey players. Those are our only two options. So imma have to go with those.

Semi-related, but I remember when I was 11 or 12 there was this kid at my school who had every national anthem from around the world on his iPod. I thought it was the strangest thing ever, and I still kinda do.

I'd wager you do not have the qualifications to know if something was dead or not. This takes years of studying in the field observation (of knowing what is dead) and not something you can do between sips of a can of Holsten pils.

Really if I never hear Star-Spangled-Elongated-Note-Singing ever again, Ill be more than fine. Call me unpatriotic or whatever, but for those who actually have to sit through a national anthem rendition that's just saying what plenty are already thinking.

Our national anthem is a part of a 19th century poem A Toast (Zdravljica) by Slovenia's most revered alcoholic (France Prešeren), and is inspired by French revolution ideals (equality, brotherhood...) and also by Slovene and Slavic nationalism. Nobody ever likes to sing it.

Also, as a frequent watcher of Indycar, an American motorsport, I have heard and seen too many horrendous self-indulgent renditions of Star Spangled Banner.

Being Australian, I've always mentally associated patriotism with hate crimes, so I don't really enjoy hearing anyone sing any national anthems.
