Most of the stuff I was anticipating at the start of the year is out, but I'm still looking forward to Beach House, Joanna Newsom, and Frank Ocean. And I'm hoping that Madlib or DOOM or Ghostface will pull something together, in some combination of the three or solo.

The fall was recorded during a tour, on an ipad, and released for free. When you take those things into consideration I don't think it's hard to forgive it for not living up to Demon Days or Plastic Beach standards.

I have really high hopes for the new Grimes and Frank Ocean albums.
Also, Mac Demarco has been slowly releasing his mini-LP and so far it's been wonderful (now if I could only get a ticket to his sold-out show).
I think Kendrick Lamar really put Kanye in a tough spot, because I'm pretty sure everything he's been working on can't live up to neither his nor the public's expectations. I don't mind if his next album gets delayed by a year, as long as he comes out with something of quality, and not this Paul McCartney cold oatmeal.
Disclosure has a new album, that might be interesting.
I'm pretty sure I'll find that upcoming Beach House album pretty yet boring, but I hope they prove me wrong.
If the Gorillaz new album gets released early that would be awesome.
Kurt Vile better be packing a punch to respond to the War on Drugs delivery last year.

Btw, am I the only one who thought that new Tame Impala album was good, but not a 9.3? It's clearly not on the same level as Lonerism, and now you're gonna give it the same rating as TPAB?

Crikey, never heard of Dam Funk until about 5 minutes ago. Really liking what I'm hearing - nice one Skinny man.

Being a little out of touch with all things modern there's not really anything new I'm waiting on, with the possible exception of the aforementioned Grimes LP (whenever that's due) and the new Ultimate Painting record (the last one sounded like the 3rd Velvet Underground LP, which can't be a bad thing). Instead I'm more excited about reissues of things I didn't get my hands on first time round, which means August is going to be an expensive month with The Tired Sounds Of... and Refinement of the Decline by Stars Of The Lid getting repressed.

I'm sure Soul Jazz or Pressure Sounds will put out another stunning release before I put the Xmas tree up too.

I am still waiting on new albums from country singers Toby Keith, Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Darryl Worley, and country band Diamond Rio. A new Christmas EP from LeAnn Rimes will of course be released before the end of the year. A new album from Alison Krauss & Union Station to me is long over due since their last one is over four years old now and the current word about my most favorite singer James Otto is that something new will finally be available from him on July 24th! 😄 😄 😄
