But seriously, I do really love the second half of that album but everything before "Ants of the Sky" is kind of generic metalcore to my ears and the parts where the singer tries to sound like Mike Patton are really grating. I could definitely agree with it being in the top 10 of metal albums released in the last 10 years, though.

Most of the "best metal" lists are basically just large amounts of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and the like. Even this one, the top 5 are just by two artists. Kind of lame.

Yep, CJ; my brother's a huge DT fan, and while I find a good bit of their stuff cheesy, I still mostly like them. My brother even made me see them live with Iron Maiden last year, and I'm lstening to "Pull Me Under" as I type this 😮 They're WAYYY bettee than Tool.
