I agree that its a bummer to see your favorite lose to someone that you can't stand, I've been there way too many times myself, but when all is said and done, the awards are not what get the bills paid and even if they were what got the bills paid, what about those who weren't even nominated for the awards in the first place? When the dust settles, only five acts are in there for each of them, so that cancels out how many others? Too many. So just be glad that so many people think that your favorite is even worth listening to and going to see in concert at least because not every singer out there is so lucky to have that big of a fan base.

P.S. Taylor is not a part of my list of favorite singers, but there was a lot of truth in what she had to say when getting that Album of the Year award. When getting to where you want to be, it is you and those who love you that get you there. It will never be those who hate you because they don't know who to hate until you are finally in their faces. The haters may help you score new fans along the way, but they will never be able to take credit for the fan base that you already had in your possession. 😄 😄 😄

Really disappointed that Tame Impala didn't win Alternative Album of the year... Honestly the only album even in any runnings that I liked. Just about how upset I was when Vampire Weekend beat them over Lonerism. But honestly these things don't matter too much to me (It's more a popularity contest than an actual judge of artistic talent anyways...)

It started off great, but she should have kept going with that song instead of 6 god damn seconds of Changes and then Ziggy. She could have combined Space Oddity and Life on Mars and nailed it. I will say she is a great talent though regardless.

I thought Lady Gaga's tribute to Bowie was a spectacular failure. She should have just done 1 or 2 songs rather than make that Las Vegas/Boney M style nonsensical medley. 3/10.

I'm okay with either winner, honesty, though it would be pretty cool for Kendrick to get it. As long as Muse doesn't win anything with Drones, I'm happy.

At least 1989 is a decent record though. Is it any worse than that pale imitation of sea change that Beck won with? Muse winning best rock album for drones was more disconcerting.

I'll try to keep it brief by saying 1989 was a step in the right musical direction for Taylor Swift as I enjoyed a couple tracks on it (Really can't say that about other Swift songs/albums). Most of the other tracks were still cookie cutter, and the team of producers who write for her was still very apparent and prevalent.

Kendrick Lamar on the other hand put out a game changing LP that will be remembered as the album that defined 2015. It was able to move a lot of people and encapsulate a lot of people's feeling on social issues last year and we should always be able to look back on TPAB to see where we are socially and how far we've come from the issues surrounding us at the time. Yeah, maybe this is hyperbolic and maybe I'm exaggerating it's importance, but that is how I really feel about To Pimp a Butterfly.

All the Grammys did last night was give Taylor Swift a (continually) meaningless award after Kendrick tore the roof off of the Staples Center with his performance and proved that even if the voters were to rob him of what was rightfully his, he is still the real winner. He knows it, Taylor Swift knows it, we know it.
