I've only heard these two, but yeah Exploisions have never really been my thing. I've listened to The Earth... a bunch trying to figure out what it is about that people love, but it just never clicked. I guess I can see the appeal, but this kind of post-rock is the kind I don't get much of an emotional reaction from (I put Mogwai, Mono etc in the same group). Seeing them labeled as "samey" as essentially shelved them for me.

Those Who Tell The Truth... and The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place are both excellent. I liked the follow-ups, but wouldn't have cared if it weren't for albums 2 and 3. Their re-released debut is okay, as is The Rescue.

They've made two good soundtracks with David Wingo for average to good repertory cinema movies.

How do you like their albums with David Wingo ?

As a huge EITS fan, here's a short appreciation of there albums :

Exactly my problem with Explosions. I really enjoyed them at first, but it's grown kind of tiresome over multiple records.

Oh, no doubt. I don't have any kind of hatred for EITS, they're fine and all, I just think they get over-hyped.
