1. Loved the well placed accents. Dig the rap style/tone. It's smooth yet properly in your face/clever.
2. How does it feel to just live... hahaaha... yup. Fantastic Maslow's/Marxist conversation.
3. Is this the G-Funk? Vocals remind me of Nate Dogg/Warren G. The other rapper reminded me a bit of 2Pac.
4. Wasn't as into this... unique scratchy rap vocals though.
5. Great rapping and vocal energy, but musically less interesting to me.
6.

Finish this later.

so first off, really cool idea for a mix. Not sure I ever really drew this many parallels between these two regions. So nice going there. As for the track selection, A+. Flow is perfect, and nothing here is less than dope. The ones I already knew are among my favorites from their respective artists, and the ones new to me (Makonnen, Boosie, Natia) had me sold on them instantly. Like Squishy said, this thing demands to be bumped outside of the narrow constraints of headphones. Shit bangs. Oh and that cover pic is

This was a good time. I don't have many insightful things to say. Flowed well, everything seemed to fit together nicely. The kind of playlist that doesn't want to be constrained to a pair of headphones.

So I guess I put together this playlist/mixtape as something you can bump at barbecues (provided their aren't any children or easily offended adults around), especially with summer just around the corner. I was trying to connect the dots between West Coast and Southern hip-hop, showing that they have a lot more in common than might initially be assumed. So here we have a mix of old and new, bookended by a couple of Southern legends (the first, 8Ball & MJG, with a DJ Quik-assisted track released 16 years ago that still sounds totally fresh), and featuring a few of the Atlanta trap-scene's most melodic and idiosyncratic characters at their most whimsical, some traditional Southern hip-hop drawing from blues influences, and some amazing G-funk revival stuff. The atmosphere here is fun and easygoing, and the music is funky throughout. Obviously, being completely hip-hop, this isn't going to be to everybody's tastes, but I hope some people find something to enjoy here.
