Not in a long time. I think they mostly suck. They rarely provide much more than Bandcamp, Facebook or YouTube could already provide - links to latest releases, tour dates, photos.

It's an opportunity wasted really, a website could be a really cool place to document imagery and ideas following the album and give more of an insight to an artist's work to their fans.

Independent websites are dead really. It's too much effort for the public to keep bookmarks on all their favourite websites, so they rely on Facebook, Reddit and so on, to deliver it to them, fresh off the press. That way you only have to be thinking about one or two websites to visit everyday, and you're favourite bands are usually right there.

Just going through some of my favourite band websites and I'm actually surprised how poor they are. They probably have the stats that no one goes on them anymore.

Would love to hear about better examples, though.

I was thinking about band websites today, and the only one I'm intimately familiar with is Dead Air Space <_<

so what are some of the better band websites you've come across? or is that a thing? do people visit band websites anymore?
