Piper is awesome. You can't beat Syd Barrett imo. But the Doors debut is a great piece of work too. Both albums are excellent. The Doors is my fav Doors album but Piper is not my favourite Floyd album, that accolade goes to Wish You Were Here.

I say Piper.

Both represent very different takes on psychedelic music, I tend to prefer the Doors' sound though.

I went with The Doors. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is among the greatest albums of the 60s but The Doors is among the most stunning and flawless works of art of the 20th century.

I think I'll give slight edge to Piper. Neither are their respective artists best.

Overall I think I listen to Piper more than TD... but The Doors has Break on through, the cristal ship and THE END. Can't beat that.

This is actually a pretty close call for me. Both pretty good albums. I have to go with The Doors, but I'm not sure I can fully articulate why.

Here is another example of someone complaining about someone else's thread (this one isn't one of mine this time at least) and being negative.

Seems to me that their are other members, including myself, that have no problem at all with older threads being brought back up for further examination. Especially for newer members.

Now, be assured, I'm not the only one who has gone way back to old posts and commented/voted on them thus bringing them back to page one.

BUT, NOBODY else has received negative remarks about so doing. I have done this before and others have whined about my doing this.

And, once again, people will say GARY, your not being singled out, your just paranoid. So, once again, I will prove that I'm 100% CORRECT.

I find it amusing that after I "brought this back up" there have been 17 posts, by 10 different members, and several votes on this poll.

Another slam dunk case won by GARY and I close this case. For now. For as soon as sure as the sun will rise again, there will be more attacks on me.

I'm with Pam on this. It's a close call, both are great albums and both are in my 100 list. But if I could only take one of them to a desert island, it would be Piper.

They are both amazing

And I love them ( this ) much

But Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is quite possibly my favorite album at the moment
