A Rush Of Blood To The Head
Rage Against The Machine - great in small doses, but really boring for a whole album

it probably doesn't help that Nina doesn't have a clear-cut magnum opus. she's got about a dozen records that should be in the top 1000, and most of us folks only add one album per artist in our greatest things people lists. the one in my chart isn't even in anyone else's top 100 :/

Yup

And I love Billie Holiday's earlier cuts, but I don't know that much about how her music was released, so best of stuff for her is my favorite, and best of stuff here don't fly with most peeps. Her 50s albums were decent, but not top 100 material.

I love most of those albums but I'd say the AC/DC and Guns n Roses albums are pretty triggering, and the Led Zeppelin and Queen albums aren't to my taste either. There's a lot of styles of music, especially new music, that isn't in there that I'd like to see in there but for the most part the top 100 isn't bad.

The top 100 on here (or rym) is as great a place as any for someone who is just starting off. Far better than some wanker from a mag like rolling stone etc telling you what the million records you should here before you die are. Plenty on it that I don't think should be there mind. So what, it's still a great source. I probably should relisten to some of the ones I've written off after a quick listen. Also it is just opinions at the end of the day but I saw the stone roses listed and that is plain wrong 😉

In all fairness all these albums belong in the Overall 100 'cos BEA is full of can(n)on fodder-botherers and that's where the collective user base have put them, whether we as individuals care for them or not.

Whilst I don't care for the hip-hop choices one jolt my 'least favourite' is probably Achtung Bono or What's The Story Morning Glory by Status Quoasis. But in truth 3/4s of the list do as much for me as an underwater hairdryer.

Too many tied for last place to list. It'd be easier to list the few in the top 100 that actually belong there rather than the other way around.

Elephant by The White Stripes stands out to me. I mean, its not even the equitable best of their discography, I feel like it started the trajectory of commonplace LPs by them that ended with Icky Thump (no offence, I do quite enjoy them but still stop with Seven Nation Army, please!). De Stijl & White Blood Cells are miles better and both of those don't seem enough to cut it in an impartial top 100.

Decided to relisten to The Stone Roses because I realized it had been a while since I listened to it. Not as bad as I remembered it being. So Daydream Nation is my choice, and I recently tried listening to it to no avail.

The clear number one to me is The Stone Roses. Just plain bad. Like really really really bad. Only three others I find objectionable are Daydream Nation, Illinois, and Pink Moon. Lots of the Top 100 isn't in my personal top 100, which is how I think things should be. It would be boring if it lined up perfectly. However, to my mind, those albums just don't belong. Especially The Stone Roses. That album is so awful. One of the 3 worst albums I've ever heard awful. Daydream Nation and Illinois aren't too far behind.
