The only part of the show that I saw was when the clips and photographs of those who went forward last year were shown. I felt for Jennifer Aniston when she cried for the newest loss.

What? That was totally cool. I'm glad I tuned in at the very end to see that live. For one, it was fucking hilarious. Secondly, it was one of the few interesting things to ever happen at the ceremony. And three, Jordan Horowitz demonstrated such high class by immediately setting the situation straight and proudly handing the statue to the real winner. Brilliant television. If something like that could happen every year, I'd be more into the Oscars.

I would have been alright if La La Land had just lost, but the way in which it lost... not cool. All nine Best Picture nominees were great this year in my opinion, though.

Personally I would've prefered and taken some sick schadenfraude in seeing Mel Gibson believe he won and then get brutally poned, but eh it was fun. Didn't watch til I was at work for like the last 30 minutes but that was... hell at least something interesting happened at the oscars this century

Y ah that ending is the stuff of legend. Moonlight deserved. But personally liked Manchester better and La La Land too. Any of those 3 winning and I'd be fine.

I'm pretty sure Emma Stone has this one in the bag, considering Portman already has an oscar, not sure about Huppert but There's not as much oscar campaigning for her as there is for Stone

Honestly, as long as it isn't Bridges (who is only less exciting because he already has an Oscar, his performance is still worthy without a doubt), it'll be an exiting win for whoever gets it. I think Mahershala has it locked, but some people are saying Michael Shannon might upset.

For the first time in a few years, the Best Actress category is also really exciting. I think it's a complete toss up between Hubbert/Stone/Portman, and whoever gets it totally deserves it.

I'm holding out hope for Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge, but just getting nominated will probably be a win in of itself for him. But now having seen Manchester By The Sea, I will have absolutely no complaints when Affleck wins.

I saw the Golden Globe noms were announced today. Glad to see they recognize Deadpool for its greatness. Of course the Academy won't unless I'm pleasantly surprised. The Academy rarely pleasantly surprises me. I also liked that the Globes nominated Hell or High Water, possibly the best thing I've seen all year. And how about Colin Farrell for The Lobster? Nice. Think the Academy will nominate The Lobster for anything? Me neither. But we shall see.
