My favourite is Live and Let Die. It is over-the-top, it has Jane Seymour in it and Roger Moore does a great job in a terrific film which is very entertaining. Although Sean Connery is my favourite Bond, there is just something about this movie which is ace. Plus its my favourite Bond theme song. Dramatic and exciting.

I love the Bond movies, although I don't really bother too much with the Daniel Craig films although they are brilliantly made, they're just a bit too serious. Obviously they're competing with the 'Bourne' movies and fair enough, but even though I'm a Bond fanatic I feel they should knock it on the head after Craig leaves. They just don't have that sense of fun,, that camp quality with all the silly villains which is what Bond is all about as far as i'm concerned, although they wouldn't work now. Yes, you've got to move with the times but it's 54 years now, it's time to leave it alone. But, money talks, I suppose. The Daniel Craig films are all about adrenalin, rather than character. I still think he does a good job as 007, as they all do. Personally I wish Timothy Dalton had stuck around for a few more, I think, The living daylights, is one of the most underrated of all Bond films. Anyway, here's my top ten.
1. You only live twice.
2. For your eyes only.
3. Dr. No
4. Goldfinger.
5. The spy who loved me
6. The living daylights.
7. From Russia with love.
8. The man with the golden gun.

I forgot to mention, CubaZed, that I also have a huge issue with Connery in Goldfinger. He basically reversed his portrayal of Bond to be more "fun" and "comical" which I also partly blame on the change of directors (Terence Young should've done all of the first four, then in a perfect world Peter Hunt should've taken over with OHMSS before YOLT). Considering Connery was at his best in Thunderball, it's a bit disappointing that his weakest performance pre-YOLT is sandwiched in between his two best, rather than being a stepping stone between the two.

I also rank Brosnan as the worst Bond, so he doesn't get huge points from me for TWINE, I just mean to say that it's his only film where I think his performance is actually good. The reason GoldenEye is so low on my list (7th as opposed to, say, 3rd or 4th) is, for the most part, because of Brosnan.

Sean Connery was great but I really enjoy Daniel Craig's films. They have made Bond more human and the screenplays more noir. It's hard to compare both as they have been Bond in very different periods in the history of James Bond but I find both much better than the rest.

As for TWINE here is what I'll give it. Elektra is a pretty decent villain, the theme song is probably one of the best in the series and that opening boat chase is pretty badass. My first problem with it is that when it comes down to it, I just don't like Brosnan's Bond. He relies too much on the Moore style quips but pulls it off slightly too serious for it to be portrayed as a satirical farce. I feel he peaked in Goldeneye and made a slow decline from then on. Admittedly, some of my hate for Brosnan is from personal reasons (namely his asshole son who I spent a year of middle school with) but for me he's probably the weakest of the actors to have played Bond. Then there's the rest of the cast. Robbie Coltrane is back and whilst getting more screen time (presumably from fan reaction) his character kind of falls apart due to bad writing. Goldie is alright but he has a twist you can see coming from a mile away and it feels kind of forced. John Cleese puts in a terrible portrayal as the new Q, he's only on the screen for a few minutes and I'm always relieved when he's gone. Denise Richards is the worst Bond girl of all time. Even from the "fuckability" standpoint for me because she's so lifeless it is like she is a corpse. The scene in the oil pipeline might me one of the most comical scenes in Bond movie history. Then there's Robert Carlyle's villain and here's where I am torn. On paper he has one of the greatest potentials for a Bond villain. He will die and he knows it, and as the bullet is slowly burying further into his brain he's beginning to feel physically less and less and increasingly desperate to accomplish his goals. Theoretically, he should be a more hands on Bond villain, one with a death wish (much like Bardem's villain in Skyfall but with more of an edge) and yet, he remains the cookie cutter Bond villain that plagues many of the films. Cool and calculating and will never get involved until the final battle (except maybe once or twice to say hello or plot something in plain site of Bond as some narrative device). I guess I'm more angry at what the film could be rather than what it is. The dynamic between Renard and Elektra always intrigued me and if handled well it had the potential to be one of the best in the series.... it's just so poorly done, everything about it for me is disappointment.

My problem with Goldfinger is that it's dull as dishwater. To anyone who's only watched OHMSS once and doesn't favour it, I'm begging you to give it one or two more watchthroughs. I did, and I don't regret it one bit.

DAY 10 OF MY BOND MOVIE MARATHON
Today: The Spy Who Loved Me

Man, I am loving the Moore films a lot more than I'd expected I would. While I realize the Connery movies surely stay truer to the source material, Moore's movies are pure cinema.

The primary thing I liked about The Spy Who Loved Me is Bond takes on much more of a leader role. In numerous of the earlier films (i.e. Thunderball, You Only Live Twice) the climax involved two small armies attacking each other. Each time, Bond hung back and charged in halfway through the battle.
In this one, Bond is leading the charge in the submarine, and when they hit a wall (literally), he's the one who plants the explosives so they can finish the charge.

There wasn't really anything about this movie I disliked. Almost all the earlier movies had a "What the....?!" moment. This one was mostly free of that.
Plus, it was free of appearances by the redneck sheriff from the last two movies! For a while I was worried he'd be the new Felix Leiter or something...

DAY 9 OF MY BOND MOVIE MARATHON
Today: The Man With the Golden Gun

Well, this was a great improvement over Live and Let Die. Christopher Lee's Count Scaramanga was possibly the best villain since Goldfinger.

I also really liked the dynamic of Bond going against just one man. Not a mastermind with an army, not a vast criminal network... just one guy with a gun.

Some parts didn't go so well (such as the Sheriff returning from the previous film), but even those moments weren't so bad, and were made up for very well, i.e. Bond's game of cat-and-mouse with Scaramanga.
Definitely the better of the Moore films I've seen so far. My ranking may change in the future, but for now, it's my third favorite.

DAY 8 OF MY BOND MOVIE MARATHON

Today: Live and Let Die

Okay, let me begin with my complaints:
The extended dance sequences got really old really fast; the death of the main villain... you had him in a pool of sharks, why find some other (stupid) way to kill him?; the needless Lounge music version of the amazing Paul McCartney song; and sheesh, did everybody in this movie eventually turn out to be a henchman?

However, it did have some good points:
Jane Seymour
Roger Moore's first outing as Bond seemed pretty good
Jane Seymour
Paul McCartney's aforementioned title song
