Last year, It's Only The End of The World was possibly the least-Canadian Canadian film since Avatar.

Mind you, you have Bunuel films under 2 different countries, so i'm guess director isn't the best indicator... Just go by general gist I guess? I consider Blue Is The Warmest Colour a French film way before I consider it Tunisian. Regardless, this should be a fun way to showcase international cinema. Best not to get too picky about it.

Its best to just go by the official country a film is designated as being of. Every film has an official country of origin. It doesn't matter how much the film resembles a country or even where the director is from. I presume it usually has to do with who produced the film. For example Luis Buñuel's films are from France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, all over the fucking place. I can only assume these were the countries that financed the film, so that would be the official country of that film. The location of the production company.

What country is that flag under your name? At first I thought it was Kuwait but it's not. Did you ever notice that the flag of Kuwait is one of those optical illusions? If you stare at it, at first it looks like you're looking out of a window. then if you stare long enough it looks like it's something popping out at you. One of those kind of optical illusions which first is going in one direction, and then is going in another direction. It just blows my mind that a country would have an optical illusion as their national flag. Try it sometime if you don't believe me.

Okay. I'm going to try this. It's not going to be a very long list, because I have to admit I'm not very knowledgeable about foreign movies, but what the fuck.....

Australia The Last Wave
Austria. The Piano Teacher
Belgium. Jeanne Dielman
Czechoslovakia. The Shop on Main Street
Canada. Sweet Hereafter
Denmark Breaking the Waves
France. Lacombe, Luciene
Germany. M
Greece. Elektra
Hungary. Mephisto
India Rockstar
Italy The Conformist
Japan Rashoman
Mexico. The Exterminating Angel
Netherlands. The Fourth Man
Norway Hunger
Poland The Double Life of Veronique
Russia. Ivan the Terrible part 1
Spain. The Skin I Live In
Sweden. Persona
United Kingdom. Way too many, but I'll say The Krays
United States. Again, way too many but I'll say 3 Women, or Bonnie and Clyde, at random.

This list is awesome, and also very educational for me. I really had no idea where many of these films were from. For instance, Jeanne Dielman. I always knew I liked it, but I guess I just presumed it was French or German. And several others here also. Great job. I like it.
