Very good choice. Sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. I must confess though, that I used to like the song even more as a kid, when I did not know enough English to understand the lyrics.

ARMAND SCHAUBROECK - A Lot of people want to see Armand Schaubroeck...Dead

As Allmusic.com describes it, “The saga of Armand P. Schaubroeck, prisoner #24145, and his partner in crime, Daniel P. McCabe, sentenced as youthful offenders on February 21, 1962, and imprisoned for 18 months in the Elmira Reformatory, a maximum security prison."

This is a three LP set. Very...ummm...interesting. From the cover to the title to the lyrics...just...just weird.

He eventually went of to record his most well-known track: "Ratf**ker."

Love and Death and an American Guitar by Jim Steinman. It's not so much a song as a spoken word weapon. Scream it at your friends! Impress music nerds and Meat Loaf fans alike! Recite it deadpan to your neighbor on a city bus! Just memorize it and deploy as necessary.

I like the janet jackson song "Better Days". It basically ends with a bunch of violins playing and it's a beautiful song, but it's very eerie.

The first time I felt that way was the first time I listened to The National Anthem and the rest of Kid A by Radiohead. The charging baseline and crashing brass section really messed with me at the time and I kind of hated it. I've learned to love the song and realized that it wasn't as weird as some stuff I'd later listen to, but Kid A really opened my eyes to a whole new world of music (Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, etc).

The songs on this album are not spectaculary weird, but, in a very quiet way, rather freaky ! (just like that album cover..)

I don't know about ever, but recently I've heard Now That I'm Older by Sufjan Stevens and I was completely amazed by the song because it sounded like nothing I've ever heard before.

Pretty much all of Drums and Wires by XTC. The cheerfully singsong way the listener is threatened with dismemberment in Scissor Man... the hilariously unmusical solo in Day In Day Out... the absurd intensity of Complicated Game. It blew my tiny mind when I first heard it at 15 and it's still one of my all time favourite albums.

My favourite weird song is Nuclear War by Sun Ra, though I'm more familiar with Yo la Tengo's cover version.

Musically it's not that weird except in it's simplicity. It has a repetitive nursery rhyme sort of rap with a call and response structure. But it's the lyrics and dry delivery that make it funny, chilling and strangely infectious all at the same time. The lyrics subvert the singalong quality of the track with frequent use of the word 'motherf****er" and warnings that "if they push that button your ass gotta go". It's a strange juxtaposition but really works given the subject matter, making it a totally unique and brilliant song. I've never heard anything remotely similar.

Now I've heard the original Sun Ra version I'm sticking with that as the musicianship is far more subtle than on Yo La Tengo's cover.

My brother had a cassette tape of Weird Al's "Off The Deep End" that we played constantly. One night I fell asleep with the headphones on and I got startled awake by the parody of the hidden track on "Something In The Way" by Nirvana.

Also the first time I ever listened to Einsturzende Neubauten because I had no idea who they were, or what was going to happen.

On that same note, the first time I listened to Cecil Taylor's "Conquistador" album, or any kind of Tape Music or early electronic like John Cage.
