Kidding aside, Cypress Avenue is a definite contender. Into the Mystic is just better cause the bass line. haha - idk it just has this deeply pensive, soulful, and sexual thing going on that just really can't be topped in my book. You know, the Bible of Omniscient Objective Views of Music?

Astral Weeks trumps everything he did before or after summed together. It's just so mindblowingly better than everything else in his discography.

His body of work includes Astral Weeks. Moondance. St. Dominic's Preview (that right there eclipses the entire career of Them, with and without him). His Band And The Street Choir. Tupelo Honey. He had a string of albums between '68 and '72 that most artists never get close to. He may be a drunk now...but how many in their careers haven't been? So...I'm not buying Van Morrison in this conversation. Nope.

Lol, Astral Weeks alone is a staggering masterpiece of art the likes of which will never be heard again, and renders Them almost completely irrelevant. Thank God he went solo.
