Don't mind as in I don't think it's bad. I think I'm With You had a much more bland feel than the Getaway has so for me at least there is that big step forward. I like a number of songs off of I'm With You but the production has never been my favorite. Rick Rubin has produced a ton of great albums (including BSSM and Californication) but sometimes I don't like his overall influence, and I'm With You feels really flat and slightly compressed (nowhere near as compressed as fucking Californication though). So far I like what RHCP did with Danger Mouse more than what QOTSA just did with Mark Ronson.

I've never seen them with John unfortunately. Only started listening to them a few years after he left the band. First time I saw RHCP was the first night at Metallica's Orion festival in Detroit in 2013(?). Second time was on the Getaway tour in Detroit. They were much tighter.

On topic of musical regrets, I wish I would have gone to Peter Gabriel's So anniversary tour god damn it.

Not the best album maker, but absolutely melting voice.

Jim Morrison has a nice wilting/smooth voice as well.

I was going to mention John Frusciante. His voice is probably consistently my favorite part of any Chili Peppers album. I love the band but he's got to be my favorite member.

With that, here are some of my favorite vocal duos/trios in rock:

John and Anthony from RHCP always sounded beyond gorgeous together. (Tell Me Baby, Breaking The Girl, fucking Venice Queen)

Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, and Steve Howe made Yes one of the greats with their harmonies. (Roundabout, Close to the Edge, I've Seen All Good People)

Serj and Daron from SOAD also have some of the most brilliant harmonies in rock. Their voices blend together so effortlessly yet in incredibly interesting ways. (Lost In Hollywood, Chop Suey, Revenga)

Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora sound magical together.

Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor trio has a very unique sound.

Simon and Garfunkel obviously.

Regarding Bono, I think he's really a top class vocalist, his voice in the 80's was extremely powerful and emotional.

Such a unique sound. He's one of those guys I guess at this point you have to appreciate is alive and still doing it quite frankly given the road he took to get here.

Probably - I suppose he has a raspy enough voice I hear it in my head as screaming, but you are right.

I suppose I think of Bono as a belter as he rarely if ever screams/has raspy rough sound. Perhaps if I were to pick a favorite belter without thinking about it, it'd be Bono. Any you suggest?

For that matter John and Paul are more that 50s rock scream as apposed to a metal scream....

The way I figure it a singer with a raspy voice is a growler not a belter I consider a belter someone with a clear voice who tries to hit all the right high notes and low notes as a traditional singer would. Except that it's rock. Basically I call a belter someone who sings at the top of their voice but without screaming. Say, Roger Daltrey. That type.

Also have you heard his solo work? This is what I'm talking about with the operatic voice. It gives me chills sometimes. He's not a fantastic singer, but he does move me, which is more important than being perfect to me.

Eddie is extremely emotional for me and the tone of his voice is super pleasant, even though his pronnounciation is often questionable.
