Not really that spooky, but kinda. I suppose it was creepy to me cause it didn't seem like he was trying to be creepy if that makes any sense. Psychological thriller like I've mentioned before.

In my personal opinion most modern music doesn't do scary well.

Maybe because we all "know" it's all made up. The unknown is terrifying. And people born near the turn of the 20th century really could believe scary things exist.

Thanks science for ruining everything.

Then there's psychological thrillers, which is why I think The Doors and Black Sabbath can write modern scaries.

The unknown still is scary - like the ocean deep and deep outer space.

Oooh... I love Pictures at an Exhibition. Didn't know that "picture" was of a witch. The concept I knew was he went to a French Exhibition and it made such an impression on him he wrote music to match each piece... or something. I'm not saying I actually know anything - just that's what I heard. Thanks mate.

Also DBZ loves the clown piece by the french poet and Schoenberg. I love the lyrics. The music itself is a bit... well... not enjoyable to me. Atonal music and Free Jazz... I'm glad they have a place in someone's heart. I just can't bring myself to "love it". I can appreciate the art forms, but it just doesn't meld well with my humanity. I definitely would watch a performance of it, but just putting it on my headphones or travelling with it in a car somewhere... or keeping it in theme with this post... that'd totally kill your Halloween party.

And then Riders on the Storm.

Probably only music to really take me somewhere dark.

Most music meant to be dark I just laugh at (Slayer).
