How about RIVAL SONS?

These guys are excellent. Imagine Led Zeppelin sprinkled with a bit of Black Sabbath. Rival Sons seem to be the only modern rock band who are trying to keep classic rock alive. I honestly can't decide if Pressure & Time, Head Down, or Great Western Valkyrie is my favourite album of theirs.

As Tap and Seth have suggested, there's little market for these kind of acts round these parts, which may be down to lack of knowledge or (if you ask me) because they're all dire.

I appreciate they might be your thing Smithy, and more power to you for not being one of the herd, but unless you tell us why these bands are worth listening to and investing time in the majority of people here who haven't heard them will less than likely bother. As previously mentioned (and as Hugh/Revolver suggested in another of your threads) you really should start a musical diary, express what it is about these bands you adore, share some thoughts, tell us what their key works are and so on. As well as condensing all your thread ideas into one concise package it might work better than a direct plea to put bands and albums in our charts just to boost their standing on BEA.

Yeah - sorry mate. I really appreciate your zeal for something you really love.

But I'll have to second Tap on this one.

It'd be like me advocating for U2 post Achtung Baby (or sometimes at all for that matter, haha). Most people on this site recognize U2 as a great to decent band up until Achtung Baby, but if I were to say Pop is a fantastic album (which I do think), and suggest it be in the top 100 of this site, (repeatedly), it'd be a lost cause.

I feel like this sort of material is never going to see the recognition you seek in this sort of consensus voting thing. There is a sort of critical re-evaluation of this material happening like in this Tinymixtapes article https://www.tinymixtapes.com/features/i-cant-help-feel-pain or in this Pitchfork one about how "rap rock" is showing it's influence in rap stuff happening today https://pitchfork.com/features/overtones/the-unlikely-resurgence-of-rap-rock/

however you feel about either of those websites, I think those are worth reading. but yeah, even with that, this stuff still has a "low class" connotation where it will never really succeed in these sorts of consensus website votes. Is there one album in particular that you think deserves reappraisal? I don't know if a general appeal like this thread will really have much impact but you may be able to reach someone with a direct appeal for the value of something specific.

Hey again everyone.

I was looking through post-grunge and nu-metal bands and some of these bands aren't on enough year charts.

If anyone likes bands that are post-grunge and/or nu metal, then please feel free to make year charts.

Bands such as Hoobastank, Saliva, 12 Stones, Seether, Trust Company, Theory of a Deadman, Disturbed, etc, aren't really on enough year charts (or charts altogether).

I mean, if you're into bands that are within different genres such as alternative rock or pop punk, then you can add them as well I'm ok with that, but I'd rather have the genres post-grunge and nu-metal on year charts, because they have a similar sound if you come to think of it and I have been a fan of these genres for around 2 and half years now (It never really was a hobby or interest when I was younger to be honest).

Anyway, these are the following year charts I'm looking for:
2000
2001
2002
2003
2004
2005
2006
2007
2008
2009.

And if you like, you can make a chart including just 10 albums, but I would be satisfied if you actually made these year charts to 100 but then again, it's up to you guys.

And this is only going out to the people who have yet to make year charts.

But anyway, thank you for reading.
