This thing is stunning. The free jazz sections, the vocals, the psychedelic verging on almost electronic guitar freakouts, every element of this exudes genius. Thank you guys for bringing it up.
Nice! Glad to hear. It is a very unique record with a lot of personality. It was a pretty effortless listen for me, and I enjoyed damn near every minute of it.

Songs like "Boys Don't Cry", "Primary" & especially "Fire In Cairo" from 1979's Three Imaginary Boys & 1981's Faith can usually be found blasting through my headphones. I was thinking of checking out that Robert Wyatt album too, either later on today or tomorrow. Guess I'll get back to you on that one.

This Heat:

This Heat - (9.0/10)
Deceit - (9.2/10)

The Cure:

Three Imaginary Boys - (8.8/10)
Seventeen Seconds - (8.3/10)
Faith - (8.9/10)

I need to listen to more Cure... I really liked Pornography and Disintegration. Probably would give them both close to a 9/10

To me, Pornography would be an 8.7 and Disintegration a 10.

I recently discovered This Heat and they've rapidly become a new obsession of mine. They feel like a brilliantly twisted fusion of the disjointed antics of Beefheart & Uncle Meat era Zappa set against post-punk backdrops of bands like Public Image Limited & The Fall during their Hex Enduction Hour period. I also hear a bit of early Swans there in the mix too. Needless to say that I'm flocking to absorb whatever of their recorded material I can. The Cure's first three albums is something else I've also finally crossed off the list. Songs like "Boys Don't Cry", "Primary" & especially "Fire In Cairo" from 1979's Three Imaginary Boys & 1981's Faith can usually be found blasting through my headphones. The latest album to break into my top 100 chart:

Constance by Southpacific

It's mostly composed of guitar feedback loops, but it's executed so beautifully that I couldn't resist. It's a very druggy, dreamy, fuzzy vibe I fuck wit hard. It's like a middle ground between My Bloody Valentine and lovesliescrushing for anyone interested. Highly recommended.

I've also been on a black metal binge with atmospheric black metal really hitting the spot. This album is really good and I can see it breaking into my top 100 chart one day:

I, too, discovered Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt in the last fortnight. It was recommended for me on Amazon Music. I had seen it mentioned on BE A but knew next to nothing about it. It is very original. I liked it.
Another one I heard recently was Trouble Will Find Me by The National. This is the 3rd album of theirsI heard and so far I like them.
Finally a band I really didn't like on first listen was Death Grips. But then I played The Money Store again at a higher volume and with more bass. Then I played No Love Deep Web too. And my mind was changed. Death Grips kick ass

Been meaning to listen to those Brockhampton records. Cool to see you liked A Night At The Opera so much, definitely my favorite from Queen.

Here's a couple albums I listened to for the first time within the last week or two:

Stankonia- Outkast (8/10)
Blue- Joni Mitchell (9/10)
Rock Bottom- Robert Wyatt (9/10 and one of the most unique albums I've ever heard. Almost ASMR for my hungover dumb ass)
Motor Booty Affair- Parliament (7.5-8/10)
The College Dropout- Kanye West- no score yet, going to give it another listen.

In search of discovering some of the greatest music ever produced, I try to make it a point to listen to as many albums per week as I can. I also try to listen to at least one album I have never heard before in its entirety. And occasionally, I'll revisit an album after some time to find new elements I love, or find that maybe I didnt like it as much as I thought!

So I ask, what are some albums you've recently listened to for the first time? And what was your experience like? Would you recommend it? Why or why not? Or whats an album you recently rediscovered?

Some of my recent first time listens that blew me away include:

T. Rex - Electric Warrior (8.5/10)
Queen - A Night At The Opera (9/10)
Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me (8.5/10)
BROCKHAMPTON - Saturation I, II, & III (8.5, 8.5, 8/10)
