I was dubious at first, but they definitely came together nicely. A testament to the flexibility of both musicians.

FWIW, the poll could be set to 0 so anyone can vote a year from now even.

Furthermore, it's fine you are doing this once a week or so. Some people are more interested in other decades and spacing them one week at a time to me seems perfect. I think other decades people still were posting to long after the voting. It's not like the thread goes away.

This has been really fun AAL2014. I think the end goal from what I could tell is to then vote on the best years of each decade overall.

I never thought of it as rushing through. When I started making these polls, I didn't think as many people would be interested in voting/as much discussion would be had so I only set the poll for 5 days. For the most part, votes and discussion have dropped off quite a bit at days 4 and 5 of these polls so I've just kept that consistent. I'll make the next polls last longer if you feel that's a good idea, but realize we can discuss each of these decades as long as people continue to reply.

1997 is an obvious choice because of OK Computer and 1991 too with Grunge classics by Nirvana and Pearl Jam so I will go with 1995 in which Britpop reached its ceiling with Oasis' Morning Glory and Pulp's Different Class and, at the same time, Radiohead made that fantastic promissing album called The Bends which layed grounds for the 1997 milestone I mentioned at the beginning.

Got to be 91, not only for the phenomenal albums but it was to the 90s what 77 was to the previous (half) generation - it got rid of so much dead wood and the leading albums all smashed the doors down for acts to follow in their wake - Screamadelica, Blue Lines, Nevermind. Metal bands had to up their game to stay relevant - BloodSugar, Metallica, MoR Alt-rock hadn’t been as experimental in a long time - Achtung, Out of time and that’s not to mention what else was stirring up in Seattle. Maybe not one of the strongest years of the decade for hip hop but Apocalypse 91 was still stirring from start to finish. Put Loveless and Laughing Stock into the mix and it’s definitely one hell of a year.

Ah shit the 1990's. I haven't voted for these lists. I might do it for the 2000's and the 2010's when we get to those. If we were going by top 10 with what I have listen to so far, I would give it to 1998. For overall, I would say 1996. Maybe we will do these votes again and will see if this changes. Will probably discuss this with 2000's. Loving that decade a lot.
