This is slightly off-topic, but I'd like to see Paul McCartney do an album and tour with Elvis Costello, and a semi-Beatles reunion with him would be really cool. That makes more sense than playing with Julian whose music was boring as shit in the 80's as I recall. Elvis and Paul collaborated back in the late 80's and some great songs came out of it, including Costello's Veronica and Paul's My Brave Face. He said at the time that working with Elvis was the closest he'd come to working with John again.

The good thing about Julian, as I'm sure you know, he sounds a lot like John.

But no, he is not even close to the lyrical mastery of his Father 🙁

I just never liked the Stones as much. It's a case of liking a few songs, but when i've listened to their two highest rated albums I just got bored.

Itsit, this is GARY, not some dipshit O.K. And I know my Stones quite well thank you very much.

In

1968 the Rolling Stones made a little ole album (you may have heard of it) called

BEGGERS BANQUET

On that album BRIAN JONES did

(1) Backing vocals
(2) Slide guitar
(3) Sitar
(4) Tambura
(5) Mellotron
(6) Harmonica

In 1969 The Stones made another little thing (you just may have heard of it) called

LET IT BLEED

On that album BRIAN JONES played Autoharp and Percussion

Besides backing vocals and being the Stones founder and leader

Brian Jones played a few instruments

Guitar, harmonica, keyboards, Appalachian dulcimer, trumpet, trombone, mellotron, sitar, tambura, recorder, saxophone, percussion, autoharp, marimba, slide guitar, clavinet, oboe, banjo, clarinet, piano, steel-string acoustic guitar, xylophone, organ, flute, accordion

And Brian Jones mastered several genres of music. Pretty much everything the 60's had to offer at the time.

Rock, rock and roll, blues rock, psychedelic rock, rhythm and blues

CLASS DISMISSED itsit

Wait, one more thing. I was just curious itsit, you have

Doors
Zeppelin
Sabbath
Floyd
WHO
Beatles
Queen

On your chart which is very cool 😎

BUT NO STONES 😲

🤣 Yes, Who It Be was a favourite.

But seriously:
McCartney - Bass/Vocals
Townsend - Guitar/Backing Vocals
Starr - Drums
Daltery - Vocals/I think he plays some rhythm Guitar sometimes ?

It's meant to be

Roger (Daltrey) Plays guitar, harmonica, percussion, and trombone.

More evidence that you don't know what, why, when, or WHO Jhereko 🙄

But yes, this band would kick ass 😁

The songwriting team of McCartney and Townsend would be awesome.

How many people know that?

Also all this has drawn my attention to something: The Rolling Stones, with all their wild living, haven't really lost any of the core lineup. They lost Brian Jones, but he wasn't essential to the lineup, they did fine without him. And they never broke up, so they got lucky.

"got lucky" 😲

Do you have ANY idea whatsoever how hard it is to keep a band together for 50 years ❓

And to say that Brian Jones,

FOUNDER AND MOST TALENTED OF THE STONES

"was not essential to the lineup" 🫵

Fine then dude. Let's see what Radiohead would be without Greenwood 🤐

I wouldn't call McCartney and Starr making music together a "reunion"

After all, Starr has played drums on at least 4 McCartney solo albums.

Personally what the band should be is

Fab Pink WHO 😁

David Gilmour has worked with McCartney on like 4 of his albums and also has worked with Pete Townsend and Ringo Starr on some of their albums as well.

Definitely should be Julian - his style and vocals are so close to his father's it's eerie. There's no replacing George, though. He was really the most innovating of the band - the songs he composed had a completely different sound and, appropriately, often more guitar-driven.

I was going to say I'm not against a reunion...but then on second thought, what's the point? With George and John dead, there's just McCartney - Ringo wasn't all that essential to their sound, and was only responsible for a couple of their nearly 200 songs. There's just no point to it, unless to help Julian out - poor guy got short shrift both before his father's death and after it thanks to drugs and Yoko. Just not right.

Would much rather they use Julian Lennon but since it won't happen without Yoko's consent they have to use Sean.
I don't see why not, as long as they don't release a new album.

Why the hell not? New material, no that would be a terrible idea but a performance could be quite moving. Essentially a Paul McCartney solo show with a more compelling backing band; I would watch!
