The Fall played for 25 minutes promoting their Fall Heads Roll album. Mark E Smith was so drunk he could barely stand up. The place was a tiny packed venue full of black leather clad bikers and it was shit.

It deeply saddens me to say this, but Katatonia was one of the worst live acts I've seen (one of my 4 or 5 favorite bands in the world). Maybe it was because the initial venue burnt down and the new one barely had better acoustics than my shoe...maybe the levels weren't just so...but man, that show did not sound right at all.

I am curious to know if anyone has seen Katatonia and had a better experience. Let me know...I hope this was a one-time deal.

Reminds me I still haven't got back to about Rise Against. We were talking about their political views I remember. Figures seen as the vocalist for them back in 2007 or 2008 said that bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco should be doing more activism and be preaching causes to the kids now that they "hold their ears". While Rise Against haven't had that big hit, their albums are charting higher and higher, the last even managing the top 30 in the UK this year.

All my favorite bands I would love to be megastars but if these guys got to a U2 level of stardom they would think they are the only thing standing between this world and destruction.

My main issue with Tim McIllwrath's political activism isn't necessarily what he's preaching, but just that he seems entirely clueless about what he's preaching. I mean, musician activists like Bono or Morrissey at least knew what they were talking about, they did their research, they knew things, while Tim just seems to rehash the same cliche bullshit.

...although I feel that some of my strong feelings against Tim stem from this anger I have considering him to have "sold out".

I saw Rise Against about five or six years ago, before they really hit it big. Rise Against completely owned that show, they were incredible, they interacted with the crowd really well, made sure everyone was having a good time and were a hell of a stage presence.

by far Fear in San Antonio. quite a few people started throwing full beer cans at them and after one hit the singer's head they had to get off stage

For years and years, it was Alice Cooper. The Alice Cooper Show tour ended in Denver, and Alice announced to the audience that this was the last show, that they were tired, and sorry if they sucked. And it was all downhill from there. Never saw a band fake their way through a set so badly before or since.

In 2008, saw My Morning Jacket at the Ogden Theater in Denver. The most horrible sound ever. A close second would be the last show I saw...Soundgarden at Red Rocks a couple of weeks ago. A bad sound guy can ruin ANY show.

You guys are from Redondo Beach? I lived in Redondo until the end of 2006!!!!!

yep i was born about 4-5 years too late to see metallica. I went even though i new i would hate it cuz i didnt want to hear any of those fkn songs.

Evermore

2 of the 3 support acts were bad (Special Patrol was great) but Evermore arrived on stage at about midnight, 5 hours after doors opened. Should have just listened to the CD.

stuck up talentless bitch just danced around while a DJ spun her songs, didn't-sing-a-word. And I will add I was dragged along to this one because even before I saw this 'concert'/'gig'/whatever I thought she was a stuck up talentless bitch, seeing her live just cemented it for me.

That really surprises me about Benatar 😲

She has several songs that I really like and her voice is extremely powerful. And I always thought that the guitar work in her songs was underrated.

She gave me he impression, though obviously I was wrong, that she really cared about people and didn't think that the universe rotated around her.

IMO NOBODY can hold a candle to Joan Jett in humble area. I know that for one thing she has spent a lot of time over the years giving free concerts for American soldiers over in the middle east.

Mine was Funkadelic and George Clinton.
I love George but I could not tell who the hell was on stage and the sound was pretty bad. Looked like 40 people just having a private party on stage.
