I listened to Voodoo first, then Black Messiah happened to out at the end of the year while I was really getting into his work.

I think it was 2GB at the time, I remember having about 200 songs on there. Some of my favourites I can recall from the time were

The Final Countdown - Europe (lol)
Nice Weather For Ducks - Lemon Jelly

That probably covered 2007-2009.

I spent the entirety of 2010 listening tirelessly to The Beatles discography.

I spent the entirety of 2011 listening tirelessly to R.E.M.'s discography (and a bit of Elbow).

Then in 2014 I heard D'Angelo and that's who I am now. Life story.

It's not too hard for me to remember as it wasn't too long ago, lol! That being said it would depend on the year, because my taste changed a lot throughout my high school years. In year 7 (Is that first year middle school in the States), I was still mainly into the Beatles, as well as Billy Joel and a few older pop guys. A year later, I finally realised there was some great modern music. I got into The Shins through Port of Morrow, then Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, and the Smiths. I still listen to them, but I used to be obsessed and now I think they're just OK, except the Smiths who I still like a lot. When I went into my final years of high school, I transferred to an arty school and that influenced me to get into Radiohead, Death Grips, more hip hop, and even some seriously experimental shit. Some kid introduced me to Merzbow when I was 17 or so. That kind of gives you an idea of what was going around at that school. It's hard to say what my playlist would have looked like because of how much change there was, but here's an approximation in terms of albums as opposed to tracks (I don't do playlists).

Early High

Port of Morrow - The Shins
Contra/MVotC - Vampire Weekend (one on the way to school, the other on the way back)
AM - Arctic Monkeys
The Smiths/The Queen is Dead - The Smiths

Late High

In Rainbows - Radiohead
The Money Store - Death Grips
TPAB - Kendrick
Because the Internet - Childish Gambino
Various Elvis Costello records (an anomaly, but I got into him in a big way around here)

The end of my junior year, the spring of 1999 that is, was when I became crazy about a singer back then named Shane Minor.

I was in high school in the 80s, so I listened to a lot of 80s New Wave Music (some good, some bad), but even then I was more interested in 70s or 60s music. At that time I was really into singer-songwriter, classic rock, 70s Soul, early Punk, post-punk and disco. And some of the very early Indie stuff. Actually, much of the same stuff that I still like today. Although of course my taste expanded into newer music that didn't exist then.

I'd say I still listen to some of the artists semi-regularly, but I mostly listen to so many new things now that I don't stick around in one area very long, and I'm generally not returning to things I like as often anymore. Fugazi is probably the only one that ends up on rotation,
