i don't remember any good record stores, but go to 798 Art Zone while you're in Beijing if you get the chance. it's a pretty good representation of the counter-culture over there and just a really cool little area.

Wagner's Ring Cycle is 14-15 hours long. The point is to listen to as much as you can in one sitting. (I've never listened to all 15 hours straight, but that's what Wagner intended.)

I'll be going to China in a couple of weeks and I want some music that I can really sink my teeth into on the long flight up there. So give me some albums that reward deep listening, or discographies that have a bit of meat on them.

Also, if any of you have been to or live in China, what are some good record stores that you would recommend? I have some free days in Beijing and Shanghai to explore, so anywhere in these areas. Thanks!
