Listened to the Baby Huey and Jerry Butler albums today and both were fantastic! Baby Huey definitely lives up to the hype. With time, I could see both records contending for my all-time list.

Here's how I would rank and rate the 10 albums as of today:

1. Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye 4.5/5
2. Here, My Dear - Marvin Gaye 4.5/5
3. The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend - Baby Huey 4.5/5
4. Reach Out - Four Tops 4.5/5
5. The Iceman Cometh - Jerry Butler 4/5
6. At Last! - Etta James 4/5
7. You Got My Mind Messed Up - James Carr 4/5
8. Songs In The Key Of Life - Stevie Wonder 3.5/5
9. Complete And Unbelievable: The Otis Redding Dictionary Of Soul - Otis Redding 3.5/5
10. Night Beat - Sam Cooke 3.5/5

The Baby Huey is a personal favorite and is on my top 100 list a truly marvelous mix of funk and soul a truy magnum opus and i just wish he got to leave us more of that delicious material to enjoy. A truly tragic story of a larger than life individual struck down just as his deserved fame was coming to him. A truly legendary talent that we were robbed of not getting more of his greatness.

Haven't listened to the Otis comp, but I'm assuming I've heard most of the tracks off of it... either way, definitely an essential 10 albums on the board. Nice to see James Carr get some love.

It’s actually a studio album, not a comp. Not one of my favorites by him, but definitely worth a listen.

I know and like/love all of the albums here but two. Excited to check out the Baby Huey and Jerry Butler records for the first time!

Props for putting Marvin Gaye's best two albums in the top ten. Also, before this list won a vote, it inspired me to listen to Reach Out (had only heard their greatest hits), and I'm so glad I did. It makes a strong case for best Motown LP ever.

Finally, it's opportune that this discussion is going on at the same time as the R&B/Soul/Funk genre game. Hopefully people who are voting there will check out these albums too!

But anyway very good that Rocky won the vote. At first view it's very clear to me that Stevie Wonder would win for me but I still would like to check out some of the other albums before giving my final verdict: ex have never heard of the Iceman Cometh.
