My record shop often isn't better than Amazon. But sometimes have really good finds used or sometimes a unique pressing for good price.

20 years ago I would have laughed at myself now, buying a record for $20. Perhaps it's payback because if it weren't for those BMG music group deals, I would have bought everything used.

The latter is what I did last time I bought records, and then I noticed zooropa is no longer on Amazon reasonably priced, and so I bought Pop and Achtung Baby at a somewhat reasonable price (I think more than $10 a pressing is too expensive, but I end up doing it anyway). Over $20 better be worth it.

Anyway, just thinking out loud.

I got bored and joined discogs today and decided to see what my lightweight collection is worth (88 records)

Min: $941
Max: $2809
Highest min value: Nirvana's Unplugged @ $40

5 Albums excluded as there's no data on their worth yet.

Too bad these three pressings weren't taken care of otherwise they'd be worth quite a bit:

Seems like my most valuable record (by minimum price, not max) is a copy of The Rollings Stones' "Flowers"

I didn't know this was a thing. I've been on discogs, but not for that. I may delve into this.

Part of me is fine with me getting rid of my physical CD collection (about 200 cds) nearly 10 years ago, and part of me regrets it. While I have a minimal vinyl collection (70 to 100 albums), I have little motivation to fork out more for "all the things" because 80% of my music intake is digital. I really only purchase on vinyl the stuff that means the most to me or is incredibly cheap ($5 or so).

Also, I second Bobby, that's impressive.

I've started to add my collection to Discogs recently and have been having some fun with it. Cool to see which releases are worth a good chunk of change, some that I never would have thought would be rare are, and vice versa.
